I enjoyed this very much. I must admit I had put it to one side as I didn't know the author and only listened when I'd run out of everything else!
But what a mistake! Spent a marvellous few hours in the company of Jess and the characters down at the stables. Good characterisation and an interesting plot! I'm already planning my next listen for a good long journey.

This started as a potentially great story but I felt it lost out on an opportunity to make it shine in my library. Sadly it didn't pack the punch it might have.
No matter. It was entertaining.

I love Ann Granger’s stories. The characters, descriptions, scene settings are so beautifully described, they draw the reader in. And read magnificently by Judith Boyd. Her beautiful voice, excellent timing makes for a fantastic listen. Recommend highly, and also the Mitchell and Markby series too. Unfortunately for the latest releases, Ms Boyd is not narrating which is such a pity as her replacements aren’t very good.
