I enjoyed this very much. I must admit I had put it to one side as I didn't know the author and only listened when I'd run out of everything else!
But what a mistake! Spent a marvellous few hours in the company of Jess and the characters down at the stables. Good characterisation and an interesting plot! I'm already planning my next listen for a good long journey.

This started as a potentially great story but I felt it lost out on an opportunity to make it shine in my library. Sadly it didn't pack the punch it might have.

I liked the complicated characters. Not sure I enjoyed the inner dialogue of main character Jess, but it carried the story along. Narration very good, the accents constant not sure if accurate but didn't care as te actor reading was very skilled.
