Summary

It is her characteristic generosity rather than her love of animals that finds Mrs Pargeter supporting her friend Jasmine Angold at a charity reception for PhiliPussies, whose worthy aim is to rehabilitate stray cats from the Greek island of Atmos into caring English homes. But the evening is to have unexpected consequences. At the event Mrs P is taken aback to meet a woman who claims to be the sister of her late husband, the much-missed Mr Pargeter. This surprising encounter leads to unwelcome digging into past secrets, the discovery of a body in Epping Forest, an eventful trip to Greece - and unexpected danger for Mrs Pargeter.

What did you like most about Mrs Pargeter's Public Relations?

There are a lot of references made to the first audiobook, Mrs. Pargeters's Principles, but you don't need to have read that one to "get" this one. The one-line descriptions bring you right up to date.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters themselves, especially Mrs. P herself. The style of writing is as entertaining as Mrs. Pargeter's Principles, but somehow I could relax more with this one as I already knew the characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it's the type of style that lends itself to it.

Any additional comments?

Simon Brett is by far the best author who narrates his own books, by a long shot, so please keep up the recording because I am waiting for the next one!

Mrs. P. does it again!

This was a great listen and made a long journey in the car fun.
Humour and suspense, a great combination!

Great story well read

A likeable "cosy" story that's well written and well narrated apart from the narrator's limits around accents and range of character voices (he's taken a broad approach that veers close to pantomime). Mildly irritating rather than off-putting so would still recommend overall.

Very likeable story - dodgy accent narration.
