The premise of the this series is unique. So unusual that it makes me smile every time I think of it. The characters are loveable, the plot is good and the whole feel of the book, the whole series, is cozy and something to return to. The narration is superb. Highly recommended.

what I like about Simon Brett is the way he weaves into his intricate, funny and charming tales his own outrage at various facets of modern society. It works very well, I especially like the sly lampoon of the art world in this one. Delicious!

An excellent and exciting story brilliantly read by Simon himself I love all the Mrs Partridge to books the way her and all her associate investigate different crimes murders et cetera. They’re absolutely brilliant. The late Mr Parita certainly sounds an interesting character.
