About this listen

This audiobook is about my personal still-birth experience; an experience that was both harrowing and beautiful in equal measure. An experience that I would, never-in-a million-years, have predicted I could heal from, but I did.

I really wanted to believe that life could be so pointlessly cruel, I mean where’s the sense in a full-term baby dying? But, I just couldn’t ignore all the selfless, kind, and all-round beautiful people that came my way. Those people paved my way to recovery.

This is essentially an audiobook about hope, because baby bereavement feels so hopeless, and I now know it doesn’t have to be, and I chose to share that knowledge with you.

A poignant reflection on the loss of a baby through pregnancy. A true expression on baby bereavement, it's challenges and the ability to see beyond. The narration is clear and at a pace which allows you to be transported into each chapter, as you also experience the challenges faced by the author. I found this piece moving. It tackles grief head-on but also builds awareness to the sensitivities related to baby bereavement, in a sympathetic way. A relatable piece for all women to listen too, to understand the depths of baby bereavement and the ripple effect against the backdrop of everyday life.

A must- Heartfelt

This precious little gem of a book, took me on an emotional journey so tangible. As the mother in me walked through your pensive path from chaos to catharsis, the honesty and relatability in your voice, resonated feelings of grief, bravery, graciousness and hope which lingered with me for some time after…No doubt your musings will serve a life changing blessing and comfort to many hearts. Thank you Maria, for sharing your beautiful, inspiring and healing story.

An inspirational story of healing and hope

Down to earth, unpretentious sharing of one of the most harrowing experiences a woman can go through. Yet was still a great story of hope. I learnt a lot from this even though I'm a man, thanks Maria

Great courage to share this story
