About this listen

The Mossad is widely recognized today as the best intelligence service in the world. It is also the most enigmatic, shrouded in secrecy. In Mossad, authors MichaelBar-Zohar and Nissim Mishal take us behind the closed curtain with riveting, eye-opening, boots-on-the-ground accounts of the most dangerous, most crucial missions in the agency's 60-year history. These are real Mission: Impossible true stories brimming with high-octane action - from the breathtaking capture of Nazi executioner Adolf Eichmann to the recent elimination of key Iranian nuclear scientists.

Anyone who is fascinated by the world of international espionage, intelligence, and covert black-ops warfare will find Mossad electrifying.

Interesting subject matter. Well narrated and well structured; each operation is presented as a concise separate chapter so the tension is maintained throughout. A decent level of detail of the Mossad's history but it never gets too bogged down in minute details. Overall though this book left me feeling uncomfortable....rather than the celebration of the Mossad, and by extension the state of Israel that I believe the authors intended this book to be, Israel and it's people are portrayed as being inherently ruthless and extremely violent. They seem more than adept at justifying the pre-emptive and often brutal violence they visit upon anyone whom they believe to represent a threat. Which, it seems, is basically any non-Jewish person and/or state in the world.

Informative and interesting but also disconcerting

Excellent book and well worth a read / listen. Lots of details backed up with checkable facts. Very interesting to see the lengths some countries will go to to protect their people.

Gripping

enjoyed this a lot, and recommend it to anyone interested in Israel and the mossad.......in the same league as "rise and kill first", another good book on the mossad.....

couldn't put it down......a real page turner!

This was a joy to listen to as a collection of short stories giving just enough detail without getting bogged down unnecessarily. I really enjoyed the narration performance.

Fascinating listen

Well written, one of the authors spent 9 years with David Ben-Gurion, that, for me, made me read this book. In typical democratic style, it's a warts-and-all account. The botched operations receive as much attention as the successful ones. Since 10/7/23, I have concentrated on understanding this part of the world.
Putting it down became difficult, reading the last chapter is like losing a valuable friend.

An Enlighting Spy Story
