I listened to this book for free and if this hadn't been the case I would have returned it half way through and requested a refund. The narrator was good and generally each character was discernable. However, the main character was like someone out of a comic strip, i.e. not at all believable. The main character is presented as an accomplished academic, artist, writer, fitness trainer and, on top of all that, is clearly old and still able to operate as a spy. The story is set in 2019 but the character has memories from the mid-1950s. This character must be approaching 70 and yet is still able to fight strong, fit men half her age. There are elements of the story that are exciting and interesting but the whole thing feels like it's stretched out and more 'adventures' were added that seemed unnecessary. Perhaps a stronger edit would have produced a story that wasn't so annoying and unrealistic.
