Story
If I had to describe Sean Bailey, it would be: A surly, temperamental pain in my ass. Never in that equation would I ever include the word boyfriend - and not just because he’s straight. The older brother of my life-long best friend, Sean is a detective for the Chicago PD, and is also known as Detective “Dick” for being...well, a surly, temperamental pain in everyone’s ass. He also happens to be the best they have, which is why I find myself on his doorstep the night my life is threatened by an anonymous stalker.

Two long years of insults, and having to redo the coffee pot four times in the mornings to meet his exacting standards. Story
Flynn Caldwell has a hero complex, and it's one of the reasons he joined the New York City Fire Department. He has spent his entire professional career trying to atone for that one person he failed to save. Because if he can do that, then perhaps he can be worthy of love again. Rowan Page's life is nothing short of a disaster. Always immersed in trouble, she has only herself to depend on. She's determined to pull herself out of this mess and make something of her life, despite the hard years she has lived on the streets of New York.
Summary
In book one, More Than Friends, Ryan is struggling to get over the break up from his long-term girlfriend. When he finally decides a fling might be exactly what he needs to move on, he expects to find it in a woman. But when he meets Drea's hot cousin, he feels an attraction that he's never felt before. But Drea's cousin is a guy... and Ryan isn't gay.
In book two, Drunk in Love, Ryan and Zach have been together for eight blissful months. Just as they are about to take their relationship to the next level, a visit with Zach's ex changes everything. They each make mistakes that could destroy everything they've built together.
In book three, Choosing Happy, Steve lives his life in a cycle of work, hookups, and regret. He's ruined every relationship he's been a part of and knows he's not cut out for love. The highlight of each day is seeing the hot college kid that walks by his waffle truck every evening. When Steve suspects abuse, he steps in and makes the situation even worse. He has to fix what he's screwed up, and maybe he can fix himself in the process.

Sweet and lovely Romance
The first two books are Ryan and Zach's story. In More Than Friends they meet and fall in love. This is a very sweet gentle romance where Ryan realises he is attracted to men and Zach in particular. With Drunk in Love they hit their rocky patch. The difficulty in their relationship is triggered by Steve, Zach ex. Steve is a selfish character.
Choosing Happy is Steve's story. We get an explanation of his actions and he becomes a more likeable character. This is my favourite story of the three. There is a lot more than the growing relationship between Steve and Joey, there is an element of suspense. Joey is in a bad situation with his master, Topher, and when he gets away Topher wants him back. This puts both of them in danger.
The first two stories are narrated by Douglas Dale. Unfortunately I don't think he does them justice. I don't think his narration lifted the stories or bring out the emotions, which was a shame. The third book narrated by Michael Ferriola, was so much better. He is very good at characterisation, giving each their distinct voice drawing you more into the story.

Very enjoyable
I enjoyed listening to all three stories. The first two feature Ryan and Zach, and although I couldn't understand their agreement to the threesome, I enjoyed the angst that followed. The third story redeemed Steve in my eyes as he came didn't come across in a good light in book two.
Good narration by the two narrators.

Such a fantastic start to a series.
I happened to come across book 7 in this series first and I was immediately hooked. I had to go back and start where it all began.
From what the author has said, these are her first books but you can't hardly tell. Book 1 was slightly different than the other 2 and not quite as deep but that's only being nit picky because it was great and 5 star for me.
The deep, emotional and angsty trials that a man must face when being gay out in the world... Aria Grace really does these characters justice. I felt their pain and the new, exciting love as they build relationships. Let's not even talk about how incredibly hot and steamy they are, because Aria can write that scene and make anyone's temperature rise.
The first narrator, Douglas Dale, I wasn't crazy about. I felt like he was reading a book. Not reading the story of his life. With Michael Ferriola, it was the opposite. I really felt like it was his story that he was telling.
I seriously can't wait to continue on with this series, I am binge listening to all of them. I was able to purchase on Amazon for cheap and add audible narration for cheaper than what the books were on Audible directly. Check that method before purchasing through Audible but absolutely purchase them. They are worth it.

Feel like I just listened to a rough draft
Don’t waste a credit , or your time. I stuck it out after the extremely disappointing end of book 2 and listened to 3 - but holy lord was there a time limit for finishing ? Did she only have so many words left on her memory drive ?
They all had so much potential but the dialog just jumps so quickly and there are themes/plot points that truly truly need more development ESPECIALLY when she spends. A lot of effort and details on certain sections.
Prefect example - we get an entire chapter about how devastated Ryan is after Zach breaks up with him - but their reunion is half a page and *poof* book over . WTH

Choose Happy pretty weird
the 3rd book gives a creepy impression of the lead guy being a pedophile. It takes 3-4 chapters into it that the reader realizes the other party is 24 yrs old. but the lead treats the 24 yr old as though he is a little boy.

as good as the ebook
The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A
3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.

Great Start to This Series
Book 1 is a nice set up for the 2nd book in the series.
It took a bit for me to get into Douglas Dale's narration but he won me over with his performance in Drunk in Love.
Book 2:
What a story! Dang, this is what makes me a fan of Aria Grace.
Drunk in Love pulls at every heartstring I've got. The connection the two mc's make... and what happens to them? Ah, the feels!
I enjoyed this one on audio and Douglas Dale is wonderful! As I was sniffling my way through the isles of the grocery store 🤨... Curse you and your amazing ability to hit me where it counts Aria Grace!
Book 3:
Whoa the buildup to this one was pretty spectacular! Great story and Michael Ferraiuolo is fantastic (as always).
On to the next one...

Really Good Series
This was a really good series. At first I was disappointed when I realized the third book had nothing to do with Zach and Ryan, but really got into the drama of Joey's (Little Ducks) horrible situation and was extremely relieved with the ending.
