Summary

'I didn't realize he was a werewolf at first. My nose isn't at its best when surrounded by axle grease and burnt oil....'

Mercedes Thompson runs a garage in the Tri-Cities. She's a mechanic, and a damn good one, who spends her spare time karate training and tinkering with a VW bus that happens to belong to a vampire. Her next-door neighbour is an alpha werewolf - literally the leader of the pack. And Mercy herself is a shapeshifter, sister to coyotes. As such she's tolerated by the 'wolves but definitely down the pecking order. As long as she keeps her eyes down and remembers her place, the pack will leave her in peace.

Very enjoyable book very well narrated

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes - it has a good story, the principle character is very likeable and the narration is excellent

What other book might you compare Moon Called to, and why?

Its in the same lines as the Sookie Stackhouse ( but without the sex) and Jane Yellowrock ( our heroine is also a shifter ) stories. It is set in our world but where Vampires and Werewolves and other Fey characters are very active. There are some subtle differences and the Werewolves have a bigger role than Vampires in this book - bit of a hint in the title there. If you like the Stackhouse/Yellowrock books you will probably like this

Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Not yet but I will and hope she is as good in those

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Made me laugh in a few places

Any additional comments?

Enjoyed it and will be downloading the next book in the series soon

Brilliant

I loved this book, and I will definitely be getting the rest. Mercy is a great character. She feisty, funny and cheeky and she doesn't let herself be pushed around. I also really like the fake that she's not supernaturally strong or stunningly beautiful, she's just a normal woman who happens to turn into a coyote. It makes her much more believable and likeable as a character, plus we all love an underdog.

The narrator did a good job and has a pleasant voice, which made the book enjoyable to listen to as well.

Overall I really liked this book and would happily recommend it to others.

well written but unsurprising

if you imagine a story about the bold princess. you are wrong but not very wromg. it is far from an action packed or emphasising creativity. seems to float more around the characters relationships.

Easy listening

It's been awhile since I read these books so when I saw them on offer with audible I thought I'd give them a go. I usually know within the first few minutes if I am going to be able to listen to a book or not, it's nothing against narrator or author sometimes the accent or voice just grates but this book didn't. It was easy to listen to and get wrapped up into Mercy's story. Great narration, amazing story and a great distraction to current times.

Absolutely love this author and this is an excellent book. With a strong willed kickass main female role. Heroine of her own story.

Brilliant story but narrator was confusing

Loved this as a book but the narrator confused me. All sterotypes and little difference between certain character voices.
