About this listen

The illegal Monster Hunt app has definitely done a number on Chase Knowles’ life, transforming him from a down-on-his-luck musician to the Alpha of two incredible Huntresses. Along with his bandmate Iris, the group has taken New York City by storm, hunting and brawling in the city’s landmarks and hard-to-reach spaces.

But there is more to the Monster Hunt app than catch or sell. An exclusive world known as EverLife presents new challenges, new adventure, and a mystery that none have been able to solve. It also presents new foes.

Warning: Monster Hunt NYC contains a light harem with monster girls, augmented reality, fantasy violence, a ton of action, and GameLit/LitRPG concepts. It was inspired by the Persona games, Pokemon Go!, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Book three is out now!

I thought the music would get on my nerves, but it only adds to the depth of the story . It has a pokemon/Scott pilgrim vibes .. Book 3 is going to be good I can feel it .

Great production

It took a while for book two to come to audio, but hey great things come to those that wait. Book one was such an absolute joy that book two was a no brainer for me. Book two Furthers the story nicely with Chase and the ladies training, fighting in various contests, levelling up and gaining more Mythcrea to their gang, Spew Gorge the goblin being so funny. The audio comes complete with sound effects and background music which are superbly produced and really make for a great listen. The narrators are Jeff Hays and Annie Ellicott, and while Jeff Hays is of course fantastic, it is Annie Ellicott that steals the show with some amazing voices. All in all this is a perfect marriage between Harmon, Annie and Jeff.

A Perfect follow up

Nothing really happens in this part. The Pokémonesque game play was novel in the first book, but it gets a bit old. Nothing really happens, they go around caging mythcrea and winning battles without any effort or real goal. The everlife part is mildly interesting, they do some gigs and get a sort of quest. For this to really go anywhere the everlife part needs to be expanded upon. Alot. Some character development whuldnt hurt either.
Great performance from soundbooth tho
