Summary

Nalini Singh pulls away another dark layer of sheer desire, revealing passions unknown, in her latest audiobook about the world of the Psy.

A ghost returns from a leopard changeling's past, making him question everything - even his base animal instincts....

Clay Bennett is a powerful DarkRiver sentinel, but he grew up in the slums with his human mother, never knowing his changeling father.

As a young boy without the bonds of Pack, he tried to stifle his animal nature. He failed...and committed the most extreme act of violence, killing a man and losing his best friend, Talin, in the bloody aftermath. Everything good in him died the day he was told that she, too, was dead.

Talin McKade barely survived a childhood drenched in bloodshed and terror. Now a new nightmare is stalking her life - the street children she works to protect are disappearing and turning up dead. Determined to keep them safe, she unlocks the darkest secret in her heart and steels herself to ask the help of the strongest man she knows....

Clay lost Talin once. He will not let her go again. His hunger to possess her is a clawing need born of the leopard within. As they race to save the innocent, Clay and Talin must face the violent truths of their past or risk losing everything that ever mattered to them.

Very good

So this one tore me up. I really identified with Tally, her back story made me sob. I thought the author did a fantastic job capturing the trauma and all the insecurities which accompanied it. It was harrowing but it shows how well written it is if it can illicit such emotions. But it may be triggering for some people. The ending was happy.

Enjoyed it

This book was a million times better than the first two, but not as good as the third. I can’t see anything topping the third book with Judd and Brenna. I probably would of given this book three stars, but Judd made some appearances and so it’s four stars. The story finally had me interested in the third book, and now, after this, I find myself invested in it. Clay and Talin were great characters, and I found their story to be quite touching. What they had been through as children was awful and I loved seeing them overcome it together.
The narrator was good, her voice is really nice, but I still find it hard to distinguish characters as they all sound the same. I prefer characters to have individual voices but I am getting used to it. I must of heard her swallow after sentences at least a hundred times which drove me mad. I couldn’t hear it in the other books. Apart from that the narrator was good. On to book number five now.
