About this listen

Maria and Dwayne were inseparable as kids, they knew that they were meant to be together, and they thought nothing could tear them apart.

But then a freak accident ruined everything.

Now, by some miracle, Dwayne has reappeared in Maria's life - as her boss. The old attraction is still there, burning embers under the surface, but of course she can't act on it now.

But as they grow closer, and he starts to let her in once more, she realizes that there's much more under the surface now, a past the she knows nothing about. Is it something they can overcome, or will it break them apart all over again?

Warning - This story has hot and steamy content and is not suitable for all ages. 18+.

An easy, short and sweet romance about childhood sweethearts lost and found. For a story so short it has a little of everything including tragedy, romance, passion and a sweet HEA. I thought that the story covered some difficult subjects that deserved a bit of depth, especially because of the effect they had on the main characters' relationship. But they were skimmed over, which was a bit disappointing. I suppose that is the nature of a short story. What also struck me was how parts of the story sounded a lot like a teenagers/young adult's diary.

Short and sweet but a little lacking

Though this is only 1hr 27mins long, it's a great listen and covers a lot and packs a punch.

Lissa Blackwell did a great job of bringing the story to life.

This is a great short story and well worth a listen.

Yeah this book was not good. It wasn't horrible but not good either. Treads that weren't necessary, explanations that made no sense and a HEA that you just didn't care about. Everything was explained like "weeks went by" and don't get me started on the constant use of "then" - he touched me and then he kissed me, and then looked at me. Obviously not a direct quote but cheese and crackers it might as well have been. Seriously though, they story is poorly written. There were some good ideas but they were never fully flushed out. Next!
