About this listen

Chandler Hendricks hates his life. Socially awkward and a near shut-in, Chandler spends his time caring for his ailing mother and watching the neighbors from his window.

His favorite person to watch is his next-door neighbor Samantha. Young and beautiful, she would be the woman of any man’s dreams. Chandler knows he will make Samantha happy, if she just gave him a chance.

Chandler’s finally ready to make a change and live the life he always wanted…even if it already belongs to someone else.

This is a great story! I was glued from the start. The author did a great job with Chandler, I’m unsure if we are supposed to dislike him but even after all the bad things he does you can’t help feeling sorry for him and cheering him on! What’s not to love about this one? Creepy neighbour, unhealthy stalkerish behaviour, great characters, great story!

MINE!!!!

A good story, interesting enough to keep me listening. There is a twist in this one!

"Mine" by L.M. Kaplin is a great exploration of declining mental illness that ends in obsession and delusion.
One of my favourite thing about this book is that "good" and "bad" as concepts become impossible to separate: the "good" are sinful and the "bad" strive to do good. This makes it really hard to pass judgement and that kinda messes with your head.
Chandler, struggling with crippling anxieties, lives with and cares for his ailing mum. Between mum's nasty remarks and the neighbour's threatening behaviour (somewhat warranted) he's bound to snap. And when he does, he decides to create his dream life with his dream family - whether they want it or not.
My only wish is that the book was longer and the dynamics a bit deeper explored, but that's maybe just my greed for wanting more of it.

excellent book

I enjoyed this novel for many reasons. The plot and pace was good, with plenty happening from start to finish. The characters were well developed. There were a few moments that made my skin crawl and I enjoyed the moments of violence. I also really enjoyed he ending as I didn't see it coming.

A fast paced horror.
