About this listen

Mindwalker is an action-packed YA sci-fi novel with one central question at its core: would you ever surrender control of your mind?

DO NOT SURRENDER CONTROL.

Eighteen-year-old Sil Sarrah is determined to die a legend. But with only twelve months left before the supercomputer grafted to her brain kills her, Sil's time is quickly running out.

In the ten years she's been rescuing field agents for the Syntex corporation—by commandeering their minds from afar and leading them to safety—Sil hasn't lost a single life. And she's not about to start now.

But when a critical mission goes south, Sil is forced to flee the very company she once called home.

Desperate to prove she's no traitor, Sil infiltrates the Analog Army, an activist faction working to bring Syntex down. Her plan: to win back her employer's trust by destroying the group from within. Instead, she and the Army's reckless leader, Ryder, uncover a horrifying truth that threatens to undo all the good she's ever done.

With her tech rapidly degrading and her new ally keeping dangerous secrets of his own, Sil must find a way to stop Syntex in order to save her friends, her reputation—and maybe even herself.

Absolutely loved this story. the narration was great and the story itself was encapsulating. lovable and loathable characters, fantastic plotline and enough little twists and turns to keep it interesting.

Fantastic

I’m not normally a fan of YA or sci-fi, but I saw this recommended on TikTok and thought I’d give it a go. I’m glad I did.

The world building was excellent. You could really imagine the earth becoming that way and the references to the “old ways” were pretty cool. The imagery was bright and vibrant, and the tech ideas were really imaginative (the thought of being able to change your hair colour just by thinking about it? Yes please!)

The twist was only obvious in a “there has to be a twist” kind of way, which I enjoyed.

Overall I thought this was a good listen!

Better than I expected

I feel like if I'd been a teenager this would have gone down better with me. it was an okay story line but I have to admit there were alot of moments when I was waiting for something to happen, something exciting. the main characters is okay, however I didn't like how that dude said her full name all the time. I also wasn't majorly keen on the narrator who's voice I found annoying for starters and didn't put much effort into making intense moment wound, well intense. all in all not great. sorry

meh
