Maeve Binchy is the absolute guru of this genre of writing. I love the way she weaves believable characters and tells stories of fairly ordinary folk. Having read a number of her books I also enjoy the glimpses we get of characters from previous novels. The lady from the social services rang so many bells. This is gentle entertainment that leaves the listener happier than at the beginning. Delightfully read by Kate Binchy who imparts real warmth and empathy.

I loved this story & didn’t want to stop listening... a myriad of characters who all fitted together so well. I laughed out loud & cried with joy & sorrow. This book just shows how important friends & community are in all of our lives... The story was narrated perfectly. Thank you!
