Yoga is a sophisticated system of self-empowerment that is capable of harnessing and activating inner energies in such a way that your body and mind function at their optimal capacity. It is a means to create inner situations exactly the way you want them, turning you into the architect of your own joy. A yogi lives life in this expansive state, and in this transformative book Sadhguru tells the story of his own awakening.

The Bhagavad Gita is a gem so precious in India's spiritual treasury that many regard it not as a volume of sacred verse, but as a living manifestation of the Divine. In the summer of 1974, inside a balmy Boulder, Colorado, warehouse that served as a main hall of a fledgling Naropa Institute, some say a minor miracle occured: the reawakening of the Gita's living presence, as it unfolded in a series of wisdom teachings led by Ram Dass.

I was hesitant to take up Isha foundation yoga courses as well in the start.

Basically the writers biography
Very little in regards to content, instead of actually recording conversations as the title would suggest it is simply a diary recording of the writers experience.
There are small recordings taken from other audio books of Sadhguru at the start of each chapter but that's about it. Not really what I was expecting and certainly not worth £17.
It is a well written personal diary, but not much else.

Sadhguru is a fascinating subject
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Maybe. Anytime Sadhguru was speaking, I was in rapt attention. Cheryl Simone really got on my nerves. I experienced her as a needy new age groupie and her quest for enlightenment was one annoying cliche after the another.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Great advice, but too many interruptions
Sadhguru's advice and his perception is just too good. He sees the world and the life around him from a completely different point of view, which is refreshing and in many ways eye opening.
I agree that the book is written by Cheryl, but she gets in the way too much between the listener and Sadhguru. A simple question answer approach would've been perfect.
I also understand that the experience that Cheryl had with Sadhguru changed her life (good for her), but the reader/listener doesn't need the details, which were not really important to the subject at hand.
Just my opinion

Waste of time. Get Inner Engineering by Sadhguru.
Cheryl is just here for another book and more cash. She is not valuable at all but instead act more like a parasite onto Sadhguru.
I listened to Inner Engineering: A Yogi's Guide to Joy by Sadhguru himself and this book is just a waste of time and money. You need the insight of an enlightened being and not a seeker. It's like I hold the hand of a blind person and expect him to guide me through traffic.

A true story everyone should hear...
This is an amazing account of one woman's search for her life reason.
I could relate to how Cheryl was searching for something - something more than money, cars, love, power or success but most of us don't awaken (in this lifetime) to why we remain unhappy when we seem to have it all.
The story explains Cheryls search through her life experiences and how her life, perspective and reasoning changed from meeting Sadhguru and spending some magical and transformative days and midnights!
The chapters take you on a remarkable journey detailing how Sadhguru came to be such an influential Yogi and Mystic for the world today - a long way from a small boy who used to hang out for days in the jungle and catch cobras!
His words and his teachings are much needed today, more so than ever during these trying pandemic times.
The world needs to hear his simple message.
I cannot recommend this listen highly enough.
It is a fascinating insight and explains so simply how we can all attain to reach levels of love and joy within ourselves through taking control of our own minds and bodies.
Anyone open to nature, spirituality, peace, harmony, kindness - perhaps seeking something but they aren't sure quite what... but they know a handbag isn't the answer should read this.
I guarantee you WILL find all the answers here.
I will be listening to this fascinating title over and over again to paw through every wise word and story told.
Thank you Cheryl and to the man who has taught me more in the last year than my father could have in a lifetime - Sg you are the inspiration of our generation, thank you from those who want the world to know your name 🙏🏻
