Story
Once upon a time, in a parallel universe, there existed the continent of Triton. The land was filled with beauty, but it was also splintered by war. Out of the chaos grew a conspiracy to reawaken the Beast, a fearsome creature who wrought only tragedy and devastation. The only way to stop him was to fulfill an ancient prophecy: Triton’s four strongest warriors must wed its four most powerful witches, binding all nations together and finally bringing peace to the land.

Midnight Soul by Kristen Ashley
I loved this book which was the last book in a series of five books. I have listened to all five and enjoyed each one with this one bringing into and completing the characters from the previous books! I loved that.
Christen Ashley brings to life such credible characters that are so true to life and the narrator Tillie Hooper excels in giving them such a variety of voices it seemed as if they all were so very real to me.
If you like reading a story that consists of romance, magic, emotion and in some cases sorrow you will certainly love this book.
I know some people like to read or listen to a much shorter book but I like the longer length which gives you a much fuller explanation of the characters and their lives!
Plus the idea of having a twin in an alternate world makes my imagination soar !!
Again I loved it.

Needs More Soul
OK--this is definitely NOT one of my favorite KA books; not even close. The sole reason it rated 3 stars was the creativity of this whole fantasyland series. While this book had its moments, the body of the work was pretty lackluster when compared to the first 4 books in the series. I hesitate to write further as spoilers would be inevitable in order to understand my response. I found 'Frannie' to be a non-compelling heroine for the most part and had not much more investment in Noc. The primary character in this book that resonated with me was Josette (remember I listened, so spelling may be an issue). Josette was a new character specific to this book; the other compelling character is Valentine, who has been a continuing character.
I think I understand KA's intent behind this story and there are quite a few strong moments/conversations. Yet, this book , to me, just does not have the force behind it that the first four have had.
The redeeming performance by Tillie Hooper is another reason for the 3 stars. She's quite magnificent as ALL voices. I am hopeful this is NOT the final book in the series.

Midnight Soul is Very Good Ending to the Series
Of the series Golden Dynasty is my favorite; but Midnight Soul was delightful and I do recommend it. I enjoyed the Frannie and Noc romance and the way we got insight into the lives of all the other characters.
I liked the way both of them had to let go of the past and believe for a bright feature and except love...
It was nice to see how the other Lahn and Circe met and started their romance. I would have loved it if they had their own book. (The chemistry between the two was really mind blowing) in the few scenes they were in.
I would say for those who like romance and adventure Midnight Soul is a delight and worth the credit.

You'll need to put some time in this, but it's worth it.
This book takes you from a misunderstood women whom everyone hates. But the end you love her and her bond with her lover, sister witches (she didn't even know she was), the people she pushed away only to protect them. I won't give out spoilers, at times it drags a bit, but hold on for the end.

Storyline ruined because of all the profanity… Unnecessary and ridiculous use of profanity
I have really liked Kristen Ashley‘s books in the past but the last two books that I have purchased (this one and Kaleidoscope) includes so much profanity that it ruined the storyline for me. I don’t remember Ashley’s books before 2016 being so offensive. The storyline was great but the frequent use of the F bomb (As well as other curse words) was so excessive and unnecessary in my opinion it ruined the whole book. One of the main characters Noc used profanity in 99.9% of every sentence he spoke. It was awful. Ms. Asley please consider not using so much profanity or at least warn the purchaser about how excessive the profanity is . When listening to the sample the other characters were featured so I had no idea that the male character Noc would be the primary male character throughout the book. I could get through the book and would return it if I hadn’t just returned Kaleidoscope which is just as bad, ugh. If you don’t like profanity definitely don’t buy this book or Kaleidoscope. The profanity in her other books may be just as excessive but I will not buy another to find out. Disappointed.

Great Overall Story, but
All the stories in this series are very good, long enough to get your credits worth. Fun female characters all with their own backstory.
Here's the "but"...
All the lead females in this series talk like high school girls, let me add high school girls that were only there to socialize and slept through English class. Kristen Ashley is a well published author so it suprises me that she did this with 4 female leading characters. If you can get past that you will enjoy all the books in this series.
