Great book, highly recommended!

Excellent book to encourage and show people how to get out there and enjoy simple adventures wherever they may be in the world, proving you do not need to be rugged and hardcore, wealthy or even have lots of time.

You have the same 168 hours in a week as anyone else. If you watch TV you have time!

So much fun in this and to be had as a result

Each one of Alistair's books has brought excitement, fed ambition and also reminded me of the extra beauty that can be found in a bountiful existence.
Out of 100 audiobooks listened to this year Alistair's have made the biggest impact on me and I can't wait to share his podcast, books and adventures with my daughter and my friends. I'm lucky to of found these books

inspiring, lighthearted and fun

Written like a recipe book of bitesize ideas to get you out into the countryside. I particularly liked the inclusion and detailing of the failures as a way of defining what success and failure really mean when you're doing something just for the experience of doing it and seeing what happens.

I generally prefer an author to read and this was no exception. I liked how he couldn't help but animate certain passages with a suppressed chuckle like he's remembering anew the fun he had (or the ridiculousness of the situation).

Inspiring listen!

I liked the book and I found it inspiring! Many great stories and the narration was good! It would have been better if it wasn't as specific to Britain, but more applicable to other countries. Even though this was the case, I found the general ideas were important ones and mostly universal.
My biggest problem with the book was the listing of different websites all through the book - that got tedious really fast!

Inspiring!

I loved this book. Alastair is a great author and I really enjoy hearing his books through his own voice. I’ve begun trying some of the microadventures in this book, and spent the night camping in my front yard just the other day, watching the sunrise and enjoying the cold, foggy morning. Read this book and apply it to your own life, you won’t regret it!

Unpleasant narrator and boring

I suppose if you sit on the couch, this could seem interesting, but I think this entire book could be summarized in a couple bullet points. I couldn't continue to listen to a monotonous narration describe dewey mornings, etc.

The author has a blog, maybe I'll skim it for ideas, but the upshot is there are ways to explore the unfamiliar or unknown within a day's travel whether it be by foot, bike, train, or car. Do things at night or overnight in the nearby outdoors.

Since he's located in London, everything he refers to is around London, so that adds to the disinterest.

I'm going to return it since I can't finish listening to it.
