Summary

From USA Today best-selling author Willow Winters comes a heart-wrenching, edge-of-your-seat, gripping romantic suspense.

I should’ve known she would ruin me the moment I saw her. Women like her are made to destroy men like me. I couldn’t resist her though. Given to me to start a war; I was too eager to accept. But I didn’t know what she’d do to me. That she would change everything.

She sees through me in a way no one else ever has. Her innocence and vulnerability make me weak for her, and I hate it.

I know better than to give in to temptation. A ruthless man doesn’t let a soul close to him. A cold-hearted man doesn’t risk anything for anyone. A powerful man with a beautiful woman at his mercy...he doesn’t fall for her.

Willow create pure magic with Merciless

I fell in love with Willow Winters and her incredible book world when I first read this book.
I didn’t get into audio books until recently and this audio book hasn’t disappointed in any way. In fact it adds to the story, it really hot home with the high impact needed for such a powerful book!
Carter Cross is the eldest of the Cross brothers, who took on the role of looking after his younger brothers, and he’s given Mafia alphas a whole new look!
Everything about screams power, control, dark and dangerous and he’s so damn sexy too.
Aria, daughter of a rival mafia outfit, is his bargaining pawn who becomes his possession ... only she was always meant to be his...
I know the full score in the upcoming series but I’m definitely listening to them in audio too!!

Jacob Morgan and Savannah Peachwood are sensational as the lead characters. I especially love Savannah’s voice- she’s exactly the voice I imaged for Aria when I first read the book version.
I recommend this audio and this series! It’s unforgettable in the best way!

Disappointed!

I expect more from Carter Cross' story, especially after being introduced to the series by Jase' s story.

In my opinion the characters progression was daunting and dull, even in the peak moments.

I'm still debating whether to give the second book of Carter's story a try just see if I misjudged. It's obviously that Winter grew as a writer from Carter's book to Jase's however, I found certain points repeated in both brother's stories that I found unimaginative.

Jacob Morgan's voice doh 😍!

I REALLY TRIED AND TRIED AGAIN!!!

Not even Jacob Morgan could save me from S. Peachwood. Not even a good story line could save me from S. Peachwood!! I could not get past the first few chapters and I knew I would not bother to listen to another one, as this was not a complete book. This author should have wrapped it up! I gave the performance two stars and both were for Jacob Morgan only. I will, in all likelihood, never again listen to the female narrator!!!

Great New Series but.....

I originally purchased this audible because of the narrator, Jacob Morgan. Love him! This was one of those dark, mafia, love stories. But be advised that there is a cliffhanger....I did not like the way it ended in the middle of an important scene. I can't wait to hear the next one. And please do not change the narrators.

A BEAUTIFUL BATTLEFIELD OF DARKLY DELICIOUS FEELS

I was cautiously optimistic so initially only downloaded the first book in the series.. but, after the cliffhanger ending, I was like a junkie looking for her next fix.. so hooked was I that I became an unsociable grouch - snapping at anyone who dared come near. And, now that the intense dual POV angst, suspense, twists, hurdles, sex, smiles, sorrow, bullets and bloodshed are finally over leaving these two damaged characters very much in love, I'm emotionally flatlining with a book hangover - which I hope to fix with more.. more.. more from Willow.

I thought this sinfully dark Mafia romance, with its possessive alpha Boss and his kidnapped obsession, was addictive and action-packed. It's not quite as 'dark' as some other books I've listened to.. however, there were a bucket full of feels along the way as well as sizzles and steam.. and tingles and toe curls too. And, the great narration by Savannah and Jacob breathed life into the characters and their emotional battlefield making each chapter more addictive than the last.

Worth a credit? This is a four credit series.. and YES, each and every one was, IMO, very creditworthy.

Could have been a 5

Although I love Jacob Morgan’s narration, Savannah Peachwood’s voice drives me insane! Ughhhh! So whiny!

3 Irritated Stars

Well, not sure why this received so many 5🌟it was repetitive. It just did not go anywhere and I kept waiting, waiting and waiting for the real point!! It’s somewhat explained but it ends on a cliffhanger. I guess I’ll get the next book but not I’m not really sure about this series....

Stockholm’s Syndrome, NOT love! And boring!

This is in no way a romance. It’s not even BDSM. It’s flat out a woman is kidnapped by a crime boss/drug lord and kept in a cell as a prisoner. Plus, the first ⅔ of the book is just her stuck in here cell being denied food and other basic needs, which became pretty boring. When she does start to have sex with her captive it’s sudden and there is no reason for the shift in her behavior - totally random. The only reason I listened to as much as I did was because I had it on as background noise while working on a project and just didn’t bother to stop to go turn it off. One of the worst books I’ve ever listened to. The only thing decent about the book is the narrators.

My mist ambivalent review ever

I went in 100% blind. I loved the male narration, but the female didn’t do a good job all the time. Sometimes simply dragging the words too much.
The story: I can’t decide if I love it or if I feel disgust. Maybe both. I have come to love the characters, though at the same time hating the male.
But one thing is for sure. I need the next book.

I don’t know who’s more sexier, Jacob Morgan or Carter Cross

Whoa! I know I should not say this because in real life this would be a horrible situation to have to live through knowing that you were held captive by a ruthless killer. Carter Cross Is mean. Unlike his brothers, there is no kindness in him. He doesn’t empathize with anybody and he’s very greedy and abusive. Yet, I don’t know if it’s because of Jacob Morgan’s (Zachary Webber) voice, but he makes Carter so much sexier and hot. Oh. My. Gosh. His voice. There couldn’t have been a better narrator for Carter. He’s a man to be feared, but for some reason he has this thing for Aria. She’s a fighter, but I am starting to figure out that all the significant others to the Cross brothers have to be tough that way. They all have this spunk and feistiness to them, but I think living in that world you would have to have a toughness about you.

Carter gave me all the feels. 🥰
