Reduced to a blubbering wreck again at the end of this wonderful saga of family, loss and love. The characters spring to life and story line so true. I absolutely adored it, as I have with the others, books of hers I have read.

Overall I stuck with this book, a good storyline, but it’s very long and slow in places. Maybe that’s because it’s in audio book, not sure I’ll listen to any more. I live in Ireland and found the Irish accents inconsistent and irritating. I listened to the interview with the author at the end and learned that she just starts writing and develops the story without in depth research and doesn’t have a plan necessarily - I think that shows. I enjoy epic historical novels. She’s very successful so obviously it’s a winning formula for some readers.
