About this listen

Olympic gold is within their grasp, if they can stay afloat in the sea of feels.

Jacob is drowning. Nineteen and a first-time Olympian, he’s in over his head. And the water’s only rising as he crushes harder on his tattooed teammate.

Sebastian cost his team the medley relay gold four years ago. He won’t make the same mistakes at this summer’s Olympics. Mistakes like falling for another swimmer at the Games.

Jacob needs all the help he can get. His mentor Sebastian can provide it. But when the irresistible rookie asks for his heart, Sebastian is the one left treading water. He wants the gold. He wants Jacob. If he can’t find a way to win both, he’ll sink. And take Jacob and the rest of the team with him.

Take a tattooed bad boy and an adorkable rookie, put them on the same Olympic medley relay team, and watch the heart-eyes fly in this friends to lovers MM sports romance.

Medley is the sequel to Relay and it might be OK as a standalone, but I think you'd enjoy it more if you read Relay first. I loved Relay when I listened to it back in August and I really enjoyed Medley.

Nick J. Russo did a great job with his performance of Medley, nothing unusual about that. 😊 The various voices he uses makes it easy to distinguish the different characters.

Medley didn't seem to grab me emotionally as much as Relay did but I still thought it was a great story. Seb wasn't too nice to Jacob at times but he eventually got his head pointing the right direction (I cleaned this up-lol). Jacob is such a sweet character. He worries so much about his father, a veteran with PTSD.

It took some time and a bit of drama for these two to find their HEA but when they finally did it was worth the wait.

A great sequel to Relay.

This listen is worth the wait. I read this book way back and was thinking it’d be great on audio & I wasn’t wrong.

Medley is the sequel to Relay. Relay was so good too, there we met Seb and Jacob. They were great characters in that book and now we get to know them deeper in Medley.

Hot, sexy, driven Olympians. Seb and Jacob are great for each other, but it took time to get there because both are getting in their own way. The swimming event parts are always a thrill reading, but it’s more when listening.

Nick Russo brought this book to life and did a spectacular job!

This story picks up right where Relay left off, only focusing on Bas and Jacob. That said, we do get to more of Alex and Dane’s storyline. There were some loose ends that needed finalizing, and karma to be had. It was satisfying. //

Bas continues to take Jacob, the ‘Pup’, under his wings. It’s apparent (to everyone, it seems) that there’s more between them than just teammates. The UST is strong between these two, and so is the amount of care they feel. Jacob feels he’s too awkward, and Bas feels like he’s not good enough. Ugh! I wanna shake these beautiful boys and make them see the truth! The push and pull— the ‘I want to, but I shouldn’t’—plays out through the entire book. Don’t worry, though, as it’s not really a slow burn...or is it? (Wink, wink) //

I loved the pace of the book, and the interactions between teammates. Layla Reyna is very good about setting the scene in her stories. I appreciate it, a lot. It felt like I was actually there, in the story, and not just reading it. It was very well written, and I loved the characters. //

Nick J. Russo’s voice is as comforting as it is entertaining. It’s like coming home. He narrates a lot of my favorite books, so it’s hard not to automatically love a book he narrates. He’s very talented, and has a great range of voices for the characters he breathes life into. This was definitely another one of his books I’d happily listen to a thousand times. The story being enjoyable is an added bonus!

Great story w/awesome narration

I loved the first book and was really really anticipating this one! Not only I was curious about the team's performance at the Olympics but I was so excited to read Jacob's story. I loved him in the first book. I was not disappointed, the book was everything I hoped for and I enjoyed every minute. The narrator did a fantastic job bringing it to life! I highly recommend it. It's a great slow burn friends to lovers sports romance. It put a smile on my face
