Summary
Jill's heartwarming, romantic and funny new novel will delight her fans, as Mimi discovers that love doesn't always wait till the timing is right ...
Mimi isn't looking for love when she spends a weekend in Goosebrook, the Cotswolds village her dad has moved to. And her first encounter with Cal, who lives there too, is nothing like a scene in a romantic movie - although she can't help noticing how charismatic he is. But Cal's in no position to be any more than a friend, and Mimi heads back to her busy London life.

Long winded!
Very long winded quite boring, I felt like pleeaassse get to the point. A reasonable story but far to long.

Lovely if not predictable
A nice listen where you're willing for the 2 main characters to cop on a bit faster than they do!

Lovely - but predictable - romance
A lovely romance with a quite predictable ending. Some elements were uplifting and interesting and I was pleased to see characters like Marcus and Loise included in the story.
The performance, however, impacted the listening very negatively. The reader has a clear ability to make different voices, but cannot modulate the volume at all. They would go very quiet, and then suddenly super loud. I often had to rewind many parts to understand what it had been said. Annoying.

Overall enjoyable
This book was easy and enjoyable to listen to, I finished it in just a couple of days. However, I sometimes felt like the writing was very basic and lacked depth? On more than one occasion side characters just had monologues where they explained their life stories to the protagonist with some very deep and personal reflections that changed the character overall? Felt a bit weird and unnatural, like instead of showing characters development over time through action and incremental changes characters just explained their life in one go and vowed to change. The book was a little cheesy, predictable and hard to believe at times but I enjoyed it none the less. A nice listen as long as you don’t take it too seriously.

a little too long and a little too annoying
overall, a nice good story. it was a little too long, I'd say 15 chapters too long. I did struggle to finish it but I persevered.
I do also agree with the other reviews, the narrator was quite annoying. I listened to the sample and thought I'd be ok, but I did struggle. This isn't a story to fall to sleep to due to the voices and the spontaneous loud voices she does.
overall I'd give it a 4/5, but I think I'd say a low 4

Great listen!
Sucked in to the story straight away! Listened everywhere... driving, walking cleaning. The change in voices was fantastic just wish it didn’t end. Will be listening again soon

Smiley warm
A smiley warming romantic story. Incredibly frustrating for the characters but in a good way.
Entertaining too. Found myself laughing with them and shouting at them.
