After a Sweet 16 ceremony, Reyna Clifton - the mother of the birthday girl - is found severely injured at the bottom of the grand staircase of the Regal Phoenix Resort and Spa.

I found this very interesting, just as an English speaker I got confused with the names. It took me a while to get them right. What we do when we are jealous, distroy not only your life but your children, husband and family.

Although the story was an interesting one, I found it difficult due to the narration style. The narration didn't flow well and came across as rather impassive.

This story went into a lot of detail about law. I didn’t enjoy that level of detail and found it detracted from the story. The story itself was okay. The characters were fairly believable.

This was my first by this author and narrator and I really did enjoy it. At the start I was wondering where it was going but then it got really good. Sometimes there was bit too much legalese for me but that made sense given what the book was about and the new series.

I also learnt a lot about Puerto Rican food as an aside.

I was given a free copy by the author but the review is entirely my own.
