The Mad Max character was as intellectual, enigmatic and humorous as ever - you often have to be as quick-witted as him to keep up and and the same age to appreciate the majority of the cultural references.
And those aspects of the book I loved.
What let it down was the Agatha Christie -style mystery and, in particular, the Miss Marple-esque explanation and ‘reveal’ at the end. In fact, unfortunately the whodunnit was too obvious for it to be compared with MS Christie.

Fortunately, the crime is merely a sub plot to the antics and personal life of Mad Max so Trow gets away with the weak storyline.

One final point - the recording was poor quality. I had to have my phone on the highest volume and my car radio almost the same in order to hear the narration.
