Summary

Mating a Grizzly is book two in the unusual Gallize paranormal shifter romance series by The New York Times best-selling author Dianna Love.

In this friends-to-lovers romance, Justin is an elite black ops warrior on a unique shifter team. He turns into a monster grizzly and rushes into danger without hesitation. But he's having second thoughts on playing bodyguard for a Russian bear shifter princess.

How'd he get stuck guarding a prima donna who will look down her nose at him like the snobs in the bear clan where he grew up? But Elianna turns out to be nothing like he expected. She's strong, pretty, and feels special, like she could be the one. He'll never find out unless he can stop an assassin from killing him and kidnapping her.

Elianna's sexy protector is the soul mate of her dreams, but giving in to the heat simmering between her and Justin can't happen. She struck a deal in Russia to save a child who has no one but her. Justin makes her want things she can't have - like mating - but the deal she made under duress prevents a relationship with him, or she'll lose the little boy who is everything to her. Even so, she will not allow her dark past to kill Justin.

What a bear!

I don’t believe reviews should tell others what happens in a book, that’s the author’s job. But, I can’t not talk about Elianna’s bear, one of my favourite characters of all time. All without giving her name, because that would be a spoiler or saying anything she does because I’m not the author. I will when she picks her own name, it amused me far more than it probably should have. A certain female bear aside, this is the second in the Gallize shifter series, it does stand alone but as with all series I would advise reading then in order. We learn more of this select group of shifters and their role in (or out of?) society. Full of Dianna’s usual intrigue and suspense this romance series is at the top of my recommend to everyone list.

Love this series!

Intriguing, thrilling, funny, all you come to expect from a Dianna Love book. I got to the end and so wanted more! A simple escorting mission for Justin turned into so much more. He thought he was escorting a princess and was confused when she didn't act like one. Elianna had a secret that meant she didn't shift into her bear unless absolutely necessary. The electricity between them is undeniable but Elianna has agreed to mate a shifter from Justin's old Clan Bourdreux so is off limits. Add in the Black river pack who are hired to kidnap Elianna and the mission is far from as simple as Justin thought.

Great Story

Mating A Grizzly is an exciting and romantic story about a Gallize Shifter, Justin. He's not happy when the Guardian tells him that his next assignment is to be the bodyguard for a Russian Princess. Elianna is a hybrid bear shifter. Is that why someone wants to kidnap her? Justin will do everything in his power to keep her safe and find out who's behind this attack. Elianna isn't spoiled and cosseted. She's powerful shifter, but most important she's protective and will do what's necessary to keep those she loves safe. I was sorry that others made her ashamed of who she was. I loved the chemistry between Justin and Elianna. They were perfect together. Unfortunately it didn't look like they would become mates. The friends to lovers' trope is a favorite of mine. As always I enjoyed Dianna Love's tale. Her characters are so engaging that they make you want them to find love. The dialogue and the story sizzles. This second book in The Gallize Shifter series kept my reading. I needed answers. The audiobook, thanks to the narration by Stephen R. Thorne, ramps up the tension. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Another Fabulous Story with the Perfect Narrator!

Mating a Grizzly is really high up there on my list of favorite Dianna Love books. The push and pull between Ellie and Justin is perfect for their personalities, and their attraction is intense. They spend a lot of time butting heads, but with two strong characters it's much needed. Originally, I honestly wasn't a fan of Stephen R. Thorne, but I think he's the perfect narrator to tell this story.

Everyone has a soul mate

Elianna was born as an outcast to her mother’s polar bear clan for being of mixed heritage. She was made to feel so inferior that she barely allowed her bear to show herself because of being so ridiculed. Her father was an alpha grizzly that didn’t help or claim her as an offspring which took place during one of his adulterous affairs. It wasn’t until after the death of her mother that Elianna meet her father and negotiated a deal that she thought would allow her and Nico a young boy that she had rescued to live free and un-hunted. Justin a Gallize shifter from the Boudreaux grizzly bear clan from Louisiana didn’t fare any better growing up He was picked on so ruthlessly growing up since his bear wouldn’t emerge that he left the clan at the age of 18. Then he meet the Guardian who called up his Gallize Grizzly Bear and taught him how to be a solider. When Justin was assigned to be Elianna’s bodyguard to escort her to Louisiana to be married to a bear picked by the Boudreaux Alpha everything did not go as planned. The chosen Boudreaux mate put a death contract out on her not wanting to marry until he had secured his goal of being the Boudreaux Alpha. During their fight to stay alive and find out who was behind the kill order Elianna and Justin discover that they are soulmates and Elianna finds out just how special and rare her and her bear really are.

Mating a Grizzly by Dianna Love is amazing

I love Dianna's writing style when it comes to her shifters. You can tell she writes with her heart in her stories and trying to make sure the reader falls in love as much as she has with her own characters. The book is very well written and put together. Justin is a Gallize a specail type of shifter who's job is to protect man from other paranormals that threaten the peaceful life of shifters. He gets a call from his old clan that shunned him telling him he needs to escort this russian bear. Justin isn't pleased but accepts and he's dreading on dealing with a pampered princess or so he thinks. Elianna has had a difficult life, shunned by her father's clan and left alone as fair as she has known. What she didn't know was her father was watching her, and was going to use her for his own personal game. Elianna making a deal to keep a child safe so the child wouldn't be alone. Wasn't the top things on Elianna's list, nor was falling for Justin as he makes her, and her bear rather intrigued. The twists and turns of this gets you, where it's not too much but just the right amount to keep you wanting more. Stephen R. Thorne does an excellent job at narrating the story. Giving Elianna and her family accents without going overboard and making it sound bad. I'm impressed as some people do a good job and some don't Mr Thorne hits it on the mark. Bringing Dianna's book to life while your only wanting more and can't wait to find out. 10/10 I would reccommend this book to my friends and have gifted it to one!

Mating a Grizzly by Dianna Love

Mating a Grizzly by Dianna Love Update: I listened to the audio version and still utterly enjoyed this book. The narrator is the same as previous books and goes the growly thing very well. 2nd in the paranormal romance from the League of Gallize Shifters. Can stand alone. Justin and his bear Herc had no expectation of ever finding a mate. As an elite black ops warrior he protects those he is assigned to with dedication and authority. But his newest charge, Elianna, tries his patience by saying “No” for any request or order he tries to give her. His new goal: get her to smile. Elianna has had a difficult life and refuses to be treated like a princess. She finds Justin frustrating and he says the most outrageously silly things. The more time she spends with him, the more she and her bear are intrigued. This couple was adorable in their attempting to understand each other but getting it wrong for the most part. When they finally talked it out, it was sweet to see their attraction and acceptance growing for each other. It was amusing that Justin named his bear, even though technically they are one. The name then gave them separate and distinct personalities. Then add Monty to the mix. Humorous. An intriguing paranormal romance series with enemies, lovers, deep friendships and a fatal mating curse. I look forward to reading more of these shifters finding their mates while defeating the drug runners.

League of Gallize Shifters Book Two

League of Gallize Shifters Book Two As a child, Elianna is exiled from her father's clan of shifters due to her mixed blood. However, he keeps watch over her. When her mother is killed he steps in to protect Elianna, but altruism is not his reason. He has made a deal with an American clan of bears to make a trade. Justin is with his Gallize brothers when he gets the call that he must escort an heiress to his old clan. Considering his clan shunned him when he was younger, he doesn't have any inclination to return, especially not in the company of some pampered princess. Neither of them could be more wrong about their preconceived notions about the other. If you're looking for a story with shifters, politics and obliterated expectations, this is the book for you! Audio Review: Stephen R. Thorne performs the story with care. He gives Elianna and her family great accents, but he doesn't go overboard.

The Princess and the Bodyguard

When a Russian bear, the illegitimate daughter of of a grizzly alpha, is sent to North America to find a mate one of the Guardian's warriors is sent to accompany her and see her safely to her new clan. It wouldn't be a story if things went exactly as planned, so expect the unexpected in this tale of the the Gallize shifters. I loved this story. It was sexy, full of action and very funny. I loved the character of Elianna with her struggles with English, her wry pragmatism and her plucky attitude, and Justin's exasperation with his grizzly-polar bear charge is absolutely charming. For action fans, there's plenty of shifter violence as Justin and his bear fight to protect their charge from all comers. For Dianna Love, it's another chance to see a master at work as she continues to build one of my favourite literary mythologies.
