I love how the story builds up in the most perfect way for both of the characters.

Starting this book off, I was not sure if I would like it as much as I did, however i was sooo wrong! it was much easier to get into the book and understand the world after reading bride which was perfect as the first chunk of bride it does take a while to know what the world is like and who is who!

the slow burn was incredible, it was perfect! and some of the twists and turns we got throughout this book was fun and kept me on my toes. I was literally kicking and screaming about so many things in this book AND the whole heat thing… absolutely enjoyed the bond between Koen and Serena!

the story is easy to follow and extremely enjoyable! I do recommend to jump into bride first so you know what is going on in the world as it makes so much sense knowing the context of the world first!

I enjoy the style that Ali writes in especially love the small snippets at the beginning of each chapter!

Overall, I am so glad we got to dive into Serena’s life and Koen is just chef kiss! I am so happy we got this book and I didn’t expect to love it more than Bride but OMG it was even better and I think I ever prefer them!

And a little extra for the audiobook - I love the narrations in these books it always fun to listen to!!

I loved this audio. Teddy nailed it as Koen, the sarcasm, the possessiveness, the dry humor, I can not imagine Koen portrayed by anyone other than Teddy and it it might be my favorite character done by him so far.
And Ellie, she fitted with Teddy perfectly but I loved her most as Misery, she was so funny.

I loved the story itself too. How Koen instantly knew she was his mate and his sarcasm and stoic ways didn’t fool anyone. And Serena deserves the world after what she has been through in the previous book and she truly is Koens perfect mate by standing up to him and their banter was AMAZING!
