About this listen

Faith. She’d managed to keep her namesake while in captivity, but now that she was free? The daunting task of rejoining society was in front of her, and it seemed that Marlin had to keep it for her.

Marlin couldn’t help how he felt about Faith; she was remarkably easy to like. The only thing he could do for her was be there, and keep his damn hands to himself, which was the real challenge. Neither one of them knew if she would make it out of the darkness intact; only time would tell that.

During trying times, all you can do is hold on and have a little faith…

Perfect dual narration with Ivy Randall and Bob Carter

Faith was rescued by Marlin’s MC after been held as a sex slave for two years. her captors got her addicted to heroine. Faith is determined to persevere and come out on top of everything that was forced upon her after her friend sold her to traffickers.
This is an emotional and serious subject.

ok, the topic is very delicate and pretty dramatic, so it's not everybody's cup of tea. this doesnt mean it's not a good book. the characters are very nice and the plot well written. feelings are expressed very clearly and they are fairly realistic. taking off 1 star for the story just because i felt it dragged a little in some parts. i had to listen to in across 3 days because sometimes it became too much. Bob Carter did a fantastic job with his part of the narration. he has a great voice and he acts appropriately to the story. Ivy Randall i feel is a good actress, her overall performance was ok, but she overdid it a little. the tone she picked for the main character is too marylin monroe's like and whining constantly. i get that the character is goig through a lot, but i feel the whining could have been toned down a notch, expecially when doing the narration part and not the dialogues. at times i felt i couldn't take it anymore. this is the reason why i deduvted a star to the narration.

not an easy listening, but a good story

A.J. Downey continues to wow me with another beautifully written novel, the second in “The Virtues” series. In the first book, “Cutter’s Hope” we watched a fierce and determined Hope on a mission to find her missing sister “Faith”. This book picks up with Faith’s story after her rescue and her road to recovery, healing and learning to live again and love again and not just herself. This is the kind of story that not only grabs and captivates your attention, it tugs on your heartstrings as well. I loved how the author kept it all real, also loved how her descriptive details places you right alongside the characters so you can see what they see, feel and think, with inner dialogue when they are in their own head. Marlin, a bad ass biker, was by Faith’s side while she suffered thru her detox, he failed his brother and was determined not to fail Faith. She has had a rough couple of years, what was supposed to be a fun vacation turnout out to be a life of hell, betrayed and sold into slavery, then used and abused by her captors who kept her doped up. No, Faith’s story is not a pretty one, but her strength to get past it is. Once she gets past her withdrawals, she needs to deal with her fragile mental state, anxiety and PTSD, she also has other obstacles to tackle too. She has help from not only Merlin but the Krakens MC, Captain Cutter and her sister Hope all have her back. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a brilliantly plotted story that contains plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt moments, heart- rending ones too and a slow burn romance. A.J. Downey, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fantastic narration, A.J. Downey cast the perfect narrators to bring her story and characters to life. Ivy Randall and Bob Carter are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit their character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Ivy Randall did a great job with Faith, taking her through every step of the way, capturing her strength and her vulnerabilities. Bob Carter’s take on Merlin was perfection, grasping his badassery and his good-heartedness. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. These are two entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen.

Book 2 Marlin’s Faith
(Narration by Bob Carter and Ivy Randall)

This is Faith and Marlin’s story and continues directly from Cutter’s Hope.

Faith has been rescued from the clutches of deprived men who had abducted her and force her into human trafficking by controlling her with drugs pumped into her.

Thankfully Hope and the Kraken MC have found her but she’s in dire straits. But Marlin has her. He has a past that has dealt with addiction so he is asked to help in her healing. Along with a doctor and a psychiatrist they all work to get Faith back. It’s a struggle but with patience and perseverance they all make it through. But not without a bunch of consequences that pull all of the MC into the fray.

The development of the budding relationship between Faith and Marlin was encouraging and Marlin is one man to swoon over. Wow he has so much to offer Faith and he’s not afraid to let her heal so he can claim her as his very own.

I loved when Faith had a super spunky moment and thru Johnny’s wife Lynn into the water😂 and told her off! She was quite the ass!

The healing is happening at its own rate and seems like the group of men who had Faith may still be around and it’s a worry for them all.

Again loved Bob as Marlin in this book. Ivy Randall was good as Faith. Faith was subjected to a lot being abducted into sex slavery but I found her a tiny bit irritating at times but who the heck knows how a gal would behave having gone through the ordeal she did.

What I loved most was Faith’s belief in her sister finding her and her will at staying alive until she did! So much emotional trauma by Faith it’s no wonder she was an emotional wreak for awhile but Marlin was her saviour .

Seems like we are finally getting ready to meet the last sister Charity soon and I think I know who she may end up finding love with. Now I’m onto see if I am right in my suspicion.

Have some Faith!
