About this listen

COMING SOON! The Revenge of Odessa: The long-awaited sequel to the genre-defining classic thriller The Odessa File, written by Frederick Forsyth in collaboration with Tony Kent.

'Gripping' - IAN RANKIN

The RICHARD & JUDY BOOK CLUB PICK that sends pulses pounding, Marked for Death will grip fans of David Baldacci and Peter James until the very last page.

A deadly secret. A chilling game. A past you can't escape.

When London's legal establishment is shaken to its foundation by the grisly crucifixion of a retired Lord Chief Justice, Detective Chief Inspector Joelle Levy is tasked with finding his killer. With fifty years of potential enemies to choose from, only the identical murder of former solicitor Adam Blunt offers a ray of hope: what is it that connects these victims who met such a gruesome end?

Assigned to the story from the start, news reporter Sarah Truman sets out to investigate on her own, not suspecting that the trail will lead straight back to her own front door and her fiancé Michael Devlin. A criminal barrister determined to prove the innocence of his own client, Michael is at first oblivious to the return of the murderous figure from his past – until tragedy strikes closer to home.
Struggling with his grief and guilt, and now caught up in a madman's terrible quest for revenge, Michael must race to bring the killer to justice – before it's too late.

My first time with this author, and it was pretty good. An interesting cast, good storylines that weave around each other. Even though the final
twist was pretty predictable, it finished a satisfying tale. I think I’ll read the first in the series to understand why it’s billed with two main character, when one only appears for a few minutes.

A good read.

Everything about this audio book was 5 stars. Storyline, characterisation, narration all first rate and the book had me utterly gripped right from the start. Loved it!

I thought the first book, intent to Kill, was excellent. However, this book is even better! It had all the ingredients, suspense, excitement, fast pace. One of those reads you just can’t stop listening to.
It would be wonderful to have another of Michael’s trials and I await eagerly for whatever comes from Tony Kent’s mind. The narrator was pretty good too.

One suspense after another!!

... If he's not outwhiting then he's busy out hitting. A witness in court or the villains he faught, Michael gets it done. The author writes a gripping tale. As for the narrator, eek! Seems like Dempsy has turned Irish all of a sudden and the narrator's scouse accent sent more shivers down my spine than the chilling murders, but if you can overlook that, you're likely to love this book.

It maybe the case that I just focus in but I can’t understand why this has been released. I have listened to 100’s of audio books and podcasts over the years every narrator has their own way of brining the story alive. I have NEVER heard the bloody noise he makes. Massive big breaths in between, yapping your mouth and sucking on the roof of your mouth like you need a drink it’s RIDICULOUS. I am gutted I really am after the performance of book 1 got me wanting more and more. This has made me want smash the phone against the bloody wall!

Mouth sounds!
