Summary
When Mara Gregory receives a letter from the father whom she believed to have died when she was a child, her world is turned upside down. I like this author but Mara drove me mad. No one could eat that much. Why all the descriptions of food?

Not up to her usual standard
Okay but a bit boring in places. I may be a bit old fashioned but I thought the characters behaved abysmally at the mothers funeral. Not the place for the husband to declare his love for his neighbour nor the daughters love for her new boyfriend. There’s a time and a place and this was in very bad taste. We all like a happy ending but this was just gross. I’m so glad it’s a work of fiction.

I like a happy ending!
I enjoyed all of it. It was interesting to learn about Australia too. I always wanted to go there myself. I like this author very much.

Pity.
I love Anna’s writing but this time the book failed to catch my interest. It might have had something to do with the narrater whose voice faded away at times. I feel I wasted a credit.

Disappointing as Really shallow storyline
This was a poor story not up to the standard of her normal romantic fiction and has completely put me off going on reading her numerous novels anymore. Poor narration and accents to make matters worse

Have to say, this was my very least favourite book of Anna Jacobs.
A nice storey, but not one that I would remember for holding my interest.
The narrating was one of the worst, I have ever listen to, it was absolutely awful… Mostly by the male, narrators!
They exaggerated their English accents, and I just hated listening to them…
I almost gave up, by, the 4th or 5th chapter, but continued as I didn’t have another book.
What a waste of money.
