About this listen

When Mara Gregory receives a letter from the father whom she believed to have died when she was a child, her world is turned upside down. Aaron Buchanan only discovered that he had a daughter a couple of years ago and now he's desperate to play a part in her life. In the face of her mother's opposition, Mara arranges to meet her father and his family. In a breath-taking corner of the world, amid a waterfront community on Australia's west coast, will Mara find him the disappointment that her mother promises? And when Australia brings another man into her life, she's faced with some huge decisions and some heartrending choices.

Wish I’d read the book instead of listening. The story was good but the narration was terrible.

Terrible narration

very disappointing not the sort of novel I expect from Anna Jacobs who is usually very punchy, silly storylines, why if you record someone threatening why not take straight to the police!! And two engagements at a funeral!!!

hearts and flowers!

We really enjoys this book and noted the Australian approach as we lives in Australia for seven year s.

Brilliantly written

Okay but a bit boring in places. I may be a bit old fashioned but I thought the characters behaved abysmally at the mothers funeral. Not the place for the husband to declare his love for his neighbour nor the daughters love for her new boyfriend. There’s a time and a place and this was in very bad taste. We all like a happy ending but this was just gross. I’m so glad it’s a work of fiction.

Not up to her usual standard
