About this listen

Master Chef Jamie Onassis has used every penny she has to buy a beautiful country inn she plans to turn into a five-star restaurant. Unfortunately, the inn turns out to be a "handyman's special" and, without the skills or capital to make the necessary repairs, Jamie risks losing everything.

Home and garden expert Valkyrie Valentine is a rising star among the do-it-yourself set. A seemingly perfect homemaker, Valkyrie seems destined to become the next Martha Stewart - as long as no one discovers her embarrassing little secret: she can't cook.

Media mogul Sheila Thintowski is a woman on a mission. ever since meeting the dazzling, dynamic Valkyrie Valentine, she's been determined to interview her - up-close and extremely personally. Sheila suspects that Valkyrie's hands-on skills extend well beyond home improvement - and she's looking for some private lessons.

If you’re into extravagant cooking then you’ll love the recipes offered … or at least I assume so, I haven’t tried them as I’m a lazy cook. More than 15 minutes of prep time and I’m out!

The characters were great and this was a lovely romance.

A lovely story of falling in love while the characters struggles are full of angst in daily life and work. The narration was exceptional quality, I loved listening to her. ❤

GREAT . ❤

I think it is most likely the horrendous voices Abby Craden gives some of the characters in this novel but it does drag badly in places. Yes, Abby Craden has a naturally pleasant voice but I do wish authors and producers would realise that the only accents Abby can do successfully are standard received pronunciation North American speech and a sexy version of standard received pronunciation North American speech. Please, please , **please** stop using Abby Craden where any other accents are needed because she does them very badly, it is painful to have to listen and I have had to return books because her narration spoiled them so badly.

Another nice one from Karin Kallmaker

Enjoyable light listen, worth a listen from the plus catalog, some of the recipes sound great and may have to re listen with a pen and paper.

Enjoyable
