Summary

You'll be wincing in recognition and scratching your head in incredulity, but like Marian herself you won't be able to stop laughing at the sheer delightful absurdity that is modern life - because each and every one of us is clearly making it up as we go along. She has wonderful and tickling words of advice for those fast approaching 50.

Absolutely Amazing

What did you like most about Making It up as I Go Along?

Laugh out load comments that we can all relate to

Which character – as performed by Aoife McMahon – was your favourite?

Narration was fantastic. Felt like I was sat having a brew with Marian

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Listening to the tales of the chemist and the games Marian and her Mammy play.

Any additional comments?

So many parts of this I could relate to. Love how she refers to her husband as "himself" all the way through. Again the narrating was amazing. Such depth and quality.

Very entertaining

This makes me love Marian Keyes even more. Really funny anecdotes and some really honest admissions. Nice to find out more about her.

My favourite narrator

I love Aoife McMahon’s voice and I normally love books by Marian Keyes, but I skipped several chunks of this that didn’t interest me. The recording was poor - it kept jumping the way damaged vinyl’s used to, so overall I found this disappointing.

Entertaining!

Very entertaining and funny in parts - lots for us women to identify with and fun listening to all of Marian’s antics and foibles!

Mixed bag!

Any additional comments?

Several of the early chapters are pretty funny. Some are, well, a bit silly, and not in a good way! A couple, are a little boring. The best chapters are where Keyes writes seriously about depression, addiction and womens issues. The narration is excellent.

Sad when it ended

I absolutely loved this book. I listened to it going to and from work and had quite a few laugh out loud moments. Will definitely be getting another from both the author and narrator. It's the only audio book I have purchased that I was sad when it ended.

I could listen to this all day.

I'll have the next installment now, please. Keep them coming, it's all superb stuff. The story of Bono's boots had me howling with laughter.

Fab Narration!

Spot on with the accent and delivery - could have been the author reading her own book.
