Summary

The Real Housewives of New York City fan favorite Dorinda Medley takes us inside her roller-coaster life and iconic Blue Stone Manor to share how we, too, can Make It Nice.

Throughout her life, Dorinda Medley has always strived to “make it nice” regardless of the circumstances. In her incredibly candid memoir, the real housewife of New York City opens the doors of Blue Stone Manor, her Berkshires sanctuary, welcoming fans into her beloved home. In her first-ever written life story, Dorinda clips away all pretense and noise to unveil the not-so-glamorous bumps in the road that have marked her colorful journey toward becoming the person fans, colleagues, and friends know and love today. This is a vulnerable and emotional account of love, motherhood, loss, and the not-entirely-planned adventure from her modest beginnings in the Berkshires to her personal, social, and professional ascent—told in her trademark manner.

Chronicling the life of the reality television star, Make It Nice also features life lessons for those who may experience similar challenges, as well as the celebrated hostess’s invaluable entertaining tips, all presented with the humor and wit that have “oh-so-well made” Dorinda Medley a most compelling compilation.

I, like many, have always loved Dorinda, this book gives a deeper understanding of why we love her and what life experiences helped form this incredibly loveable and relatable person. Despite her apparent privileged lifestyle she now leads, there is something so grounded and normal about her. I’m never one to be so fanatical about “stars” that I’d want to meet them, but having read this book, I now know more than ever that Dorinda is one person I’d love to be in the company of, not because she’s famous but because she’s an incredibly deep and emotionally intellectual person, which really comes across in this book. When she speaks about her love for her daughter Hannah, it literally brought me to tears because I could completely relate to that same feeling I have for my own. Whatever her next 6 year cycle of life brings, I hope it’s a great one, because this book shows just how deserving she is of it. It takes a lot of courage to lay your life out bare for the many critics of this world, but she did it here, and “made it nice”, warts and all x

Real thought provoking book

Dorinda is so authentic it’s refreshing. If you thought you loved her in RHONY then you’re in for a treat with this book. She’s the type of person that even if your lives are in no way similar you’d still want to be friends with her. I wish this book would’ve been longer though :)

This makes you love her even more
