About this listen

Freshly hired onto Will Jessup's costumed cleaning fleet, Man Maid, mischief-maker Barrett Andrews can't seem to stay out of trouble. After a hot night with a mysterious rainbow-haired knockout who introduces herself as Aphrodite, Barrett is left with nothing but sexy memories, wrinkled jasmine-scented bedsheets, and a fake phone number to remember her by. Barrett soon finds that scrubbing tiles and washing towels for Jackson's upper eschelon isn't as easy as he'd imagined. Embarking on a journey for some much needed training, the buff barroom brawler finds himself right on the doorstep of his mysterious, rainbow-haired hottie.

Full of all-new costumes, spice, and laugh-out-loud humor, Maid in America is the second installment of Aurora Alba's Man Maid contemporary romance series. Maid in America is perfect for lovers of small-town romance, dominant alpha male, workplace romance, age gap, or romantic comedy tropes.

Note: The publishers recommend that the Man Maid series be listened to sequentially, starting with the first novel, Maid in Heaven.

Maid in America is beautifully written with a great cast of characters! I love that the author featured a main character who has been diagnosed as having bipolar disorder, shedding light on the personal struggles and interpersonal challenges, the narratives that others write and the impact that can have, and how much hope and forward movement has taken place for managing it. Chastity is so beautiful and I love how Barrett truly sees her from the get go, supporting her no matter what and standing by her choices, respecting her boundaries, and cheering her on. Barrett and Chastity are dynamic and wonderful people individually, each growing on their own and together as the story progresses. I love the peeks we get into the clientele that Barrett deals with, and how the various people come together to support each other. The overarching series plot is so much fun, and the author moves it forward with fun twists. The narrator did a lovely job of performing the various roles, bringing out each character’s personality with unique voices and elevating the enjoyment of the story.
