Summary
Melissa Sneedle never thought she’d be the failure in her family, but that's exactly what happened when her professor told Melissa her magic was inept. The only thing left for this failed witch are normal people—or "normies", as they're called around here—and forgetting all about why magic was so important to begin with.
With her heart set on leaving the magic world behind, Melissa goes through an unexpected portal into an ordinary town and jumps at the chance to work at a local bookstore. There's just one problem with this arrangement. The portal in the bookstore brings a lot of questions, her new tiny house may be sentient, and why, oh why is there a dead body on her shift? Also, aren't familiars supposed to be cats?

Intriguing.
An intriguing paranormal mystery with a fresh and fun setup. The plot is ingenious, the characters (including the familiars) are wonderful and the narration by Shannon Nicole Locke is top notch.

magic
I loved the narration of Shannon Nicole Locke, she bring this book to life, you hear the humour and mystery.
Melissa is a failed witch, and now finds herself working in a bookshop. With the normal people. One day she finds her inheritance is a help. Melissa find herself pulled in helping a murder investigation.

Magical Cozy
This is a magical Cozy mystery. A failed and reluctant withch joins the normal folks to go work in a bookshop, A murder soon follows and she is pulled in to the investigation, an unexpected inheritance helps maintain the mystery. With well developed characters and lovable familiars this is a very entertaining Cozy mystery. Shannon Nicole Locke's narration is excellent and helps bring the whole story to life. I look forward to listening to more books in this series as they become available.
