About this listen

Maggie is the growing up story of a young girl in early 1900s Ontario who is born into a large family of Pennsylvania Dutch background. She faces the prejudice of some of her husband's family who are overly proud of their English heritage.

This family story is set against the background of the First World War and afterwards where anti-German sentiment is rampant. Having overcome much of that family prejudice, Maggie thinks she has a good marriage—until she doesn't.

What kind of strength will Maggie show as she is forced to solve her own problems?
