Kate's agony runs through this book, and I found myself in tears several times while listening. The focus, of course, had to be on the search for Madeleine. All the McCann's want is to find their missing daughter. The Portuguese "investigation" was appallingly sub-standard and the family have faced constant criticism, suspicion and intrusions while still desperately trying to find Madeleine. I sincerely hope that they will be reunited with their beautiful Madeleine soon.

Sorry but I couldn’t get into this book. This is such a tragic awful and sad story. My heart absolutely breaks for kate and gerry, but i just can’t get my head round everyone thought this was ok to leave these kids alone😢 i would always sit on the balcony and have a drink with my husband while my kids were sleeping. I would go not even 1 step away from our apartment… ever. The distance was SO far and doing hourly checks or whatever just isn’t an excuse 😞 nothing would make me leave my children alone anywhere in this world while they slept at whatever age. The thought of my child waking saying “mummy” and I wasn’t there is enough to make me never want to leave them, and i never did. This could have all been avoided if proper care was taken unfortunately 😢💔but it’s done now and my heart breaks for the absolute extreme pain kate&gerry must be going through now and i wish this had never happened 😢💔 its heartbreaking and i pray that one day we all get the answers 🙏🏽😢 take care of your precious family and i pray your pain eases and one day you get the answers 🙏🏽❤️ i am truly devastated by this story. Poor poor maddie 😞💔 xxx

I decided to download this book because I always wondered how Kate mentally deals with such tragedy and uncertainty. I'm sure she carries the weight of guilt with her everyday. I can't imagine the pain she and her family must experience everyday. Especially as they're under constant scrutiny. I think she's done well to manage her emotions to keep focused on the search for her daughter. It must've been so hard writing this book, which hopefully helps towards the search. Keep strong Kate. Keep going!
