One chance to rewrite their story.
On the eve of his retirement from the NHL, Ty Hudson met a woman he never forgot—and lost her just as quickly. One night. Instant sparks. Terrible timing.
Three years later, Ty is back in Linwood, building a new life—coaching the Mayhem Hockey Club, tending a rescue farm full of misfits, and loving the eight-year-old next door like she's his own.
Then Daisy Winslow comes crashing back into his world.
Daisy never expected to return to Linwood heartbroken and grieving, desperate to hold on to the only family she has left. The last thing she's prepared for is Ty—the man she never truly moved on from—or the way her niece already adores him.
That spark reignites, even as grief makes everything heavier. Daisy is barely holding herself together. Ty is risking his heart—for her, and for the family he never knew he wanted.
But this time, he isn't walking away.
Made for Mayhem is a second-chance small-town hockey romance featuring forced proximity, found family, and all the heart.

"Made for Mayhem" by Aimee Vance is the second book in the "Mayhem Hockey Club" series.
Even if this can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading "Moms of Mayhem" first.
Thank you House of Hears Lit for the gifted audiobook.
Opinions from this review are completely my own.
This is an example of series where the first book is good and the second one is even better.
Even if the gorgeous cover hints to a sweet small town romance, this book will make you emotional and it deals with grief.
What you can expect:
- small town
- grumpy/ sunshine
- foster dad/aunt
- second chance (the one that got away)
- found family
- a lot of animals
- working through grief and healing
- slow burn
- banter
- age gap (10 years)
I love Aimee's writing and I think that this one of her best books.
We have Ty (Huddy), who is Emmy's brother and a former hockey player.
He met Daisy three years ago and could not get over her even if they only spent a night together (talking).
Now Daisy is coming back to Linwood to take care of her niece Junie and finds out that Ty is her foster dad.
This is an emotional book and my favorite part is the found family.
Daisy was received so well by the town and especially by the Moms of Mayhem. They accept her as she is and help when needed.
Also, Ty and Junie make her part of the family from the start.
The audiobook is narrated in dual style by Vanessa Moyen and Gideon Frost. It was a pleasure to reread the book in audio and I think that both narrators managed to bring out the emotion and the beauty of the story. I liked a lot Vanessa’s performance as Daisy, but she also did a great job with the other characters. Gideon managed to bring Ty to life, but there could be an improvement in narrating the female characters.
The slow burn of the relationship was so well written and there is such a good balance between the banter, emotional and physical side of it.
Ty has so much love for Daisy and Junie and is a good man.
Junie is a sweet little girl that disserves all the best in the world.
If you did not read anything by Aimee before, start with this series and you won't regret it.
A beautiful story
