About this listen

Alex, James and their new friend Claude-Michelle face mischief, mayhem, murder, a modern-day pirate and wildlife traffickers in this adventure set in a lost world in remote northern Madagascar. How wise is it to head into forests where there’s no phone signal and compasses are confused by magnetic rocks? Or deep into a labyrinth of caves inhabited by crocodiles and aggressive eels? What has happened to Claude’s mother? Who can the children trust? And how can mere children foil evil traffickers of rare lemurs?

A great tale for teenagers, already available to read on kindle (see reviews on Amazon). The book is engagingly narrated by the author and augmented with atmospheric sounds of local birds.

I am posting this on behalf of a family member who is unable to post for themselves. The reviewer had a free copy in exchange for an honest review and is a great fan of these books!

Madagascar Misadventure is the fourth book in the series by Jane Wilson-Howarth featuring Alex and James adventures as they are travelling through Madagascar because their parents are wildlife activists. I have listened to the previous books as well.
I like hearing about all the wildlife in this book like lemurs and foosa and scorpions for example.
I like that James and Alex and Claude have a sense of humour and I like listening to them banter. Also I like how James and Alex care about each other even though they don't always get along.
I like that it is interesting hearing about the Madagascar culture and curses that they believe in.
I found the story difficult to follow in some places. However the story is enjoyable and the characters face a lot of threat so this makes the reader want to know what happens next.
The recording was done well and is very clearly read.

Enjoyable story

Alex and James continued having adventures without their parents. It was fun to see the brothers continue to scrap between themselves. Jane obviously has a huge knowledge of this part of Madagascar and it shows with her wonderful descriptions of the fauna and flora. I can't help but wonder if she had been hit by deposits from animals and birds overhead from listening to her story. Great read, would highly recommend.

Great storyline and descriptions of animal and plants
