Summary

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts comes a compelling story about love's powerful ability to break down barriers.

Nothing in Sydney Hayward's background of wealth and privilege prepared her to take the helm of her family's corporation, and her new responsibilities left no room for complications. Mikhail Stanislaski was definitely a complication. Earthy and entirely masculine, Mikhail came from a world utterly different from her own. But the way she felt when he put his strong, work-hardened hands on her was wreaking havoc with Sydney's resolve.

Love this series!

This story takes up where Taming Natasha left off. I love the series of this old Ukranian family and their wonderful family life. Enjoyed seeing Miquel and his life take shape.

Recommended

Mikhail and Sydney make a rather unlikely pair at least looking from the outside. It isn't until we get a look at what's inside that the unmistakable signs of bone deep honest integrity and caring is seen. The girl who is uncertain and insecure and the boy who is distinctly confident and sure footed. They make a wonderful story and great addition to the Stanislaski family stories.

Classy 1930's NYC - great characters and story.

What made the experience of listening to Luring a Lady the most enjoyable?

Descriptions of New York City - in its "black and whiteness" - offering insights - Christina's voicing of the characters (especially female characters) was excellent.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Luring a Lady?

Katie's friendship with Wallace - and the day-days they spent together at the Hunt Club and Shooting and etc., clearly the "melding (?)" of two very different worlds.

Have you listened to any of Christina Traister’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No basis for an evaluation

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The death of Wallace - and her realization that her circle of "friends" in New York City was rapidly decreasing - which was/is the "way of life".

Any additional comments?

You can see that Amor Towles is "learning" how to create a great character - I've read his "A Gentlemen in Moscow" - and I think Katie is a very very early version of the Count. Great narrative and great human insights in both novels.
