Summary

Nate is a professor at the university, content with his life, his job, and his partner David. But when he jumps in to defend a student under attack and is injured himself, Nate becomes a leader in the campus movement to end sexual assault. When David doesn’t understand his militant reaction, Nate feels abandoned and betrayed, and begins to question their relationship.

David's love for Nate is deep and true, but he can’t support Nate’s confrontational stance, fearing that the consequences will destroy his career. Forced to choose between his love for Nate and his own sense of what’s right, David feels trapped in a hopeless impasse.

Colin, an Irish Sergeant in the campus police force, is a legend on campus. A fierce protector of assault victims, he is merciless in pursuit of their assailants. When he meets Joshua, a Title IX consultant, sparks fly, and their relationship quickly becomes passionate.

Joshua wants more from Colin, much more, but Colin clings to his independence, fighting against his feelings for the soft-spoken psychologist. When Colin’s past comes back to haunt him, an explosive quarrel sends Joshua home without a word. Will Colin care enough to seek him out?

It would take a miracle to resolve these issues and bring these men together.

Love's Magic is a gay romance featuring two couples, who will both find their HEA.

Angst, emotion, love...

Love's Magic is the first book in the Revolutionary Heart series by Janice Jarrell. This story has a lot of drama, emotion, and love.
It is well written with interesting plot and characters. We also get to see the evolution of one love relationship and a story of how one established relationship withstands an conflict.

Nate suffered an attack and is hurting. He isnt feeling the support he should from his partner.
David loves Nate but he really pissed me off. He needed to figure out how to communicate with the love of his life. They need to communicate to keep their relationship strong.

Colin doesnt want a relationship and even though he is falling for Joshua, he is doing everything to get those feelings to let go of him... but is it too late? It might be too late to even take the chance after he fails to communicate well with Joshua, who cant do casual and decides to leave town and get away from all the drama that is going dow. Colin is going to have to step up, grow up and communicate to win back the only man who has gotten to Colin beyond just physical pleasure.

Oh yes, this story has angst, intense topics, and many feels.

Narration is done by Walker William's and does a fantastic job bringing this story to listeners. The voice fits well with the characters and helps get lost in the tale. Good job.

Great story to start the series

The story: I had read the book before listening to the audio so I’m adding my review in two parts.

I just found this author and I sit fretting over writing the review for this series. I’m a reader and my skills at writing are next to none. Yet I hope someone will come away from my reviews of the books in this series wanting to read them. I am so glad I had the books from the series when I started. I’m not a patient person and once I started these I had to keep reading. There is so much emotion to this series. This book Nate goes through so much and the author made me understand him so much. He is the guy I would want around in any kind of trouble. What happens to him and the aftermath pointed out how people hand adversity so differently. I am so happy that Nate and Colin found each other. How Colin deals with people is envious. He is in a hard to please career yet he manages to attract people to him. How these two deal with each other and previous relationships is done so well that the story ended before I wanted it to and thank goodness I had the next. Also doesn’t hurt that this author knows how to make the sex believable, enviable and just hot.

My review on the audio is just as positive. I listen to a lot of audio books and having already read the book found I really enjoyed the audio. It gave a better voice to the characters than the ones I had in my head. Walker Williams didn’t try and give different sounds to the different characters, rather I felt he was telling me the story. I could really just relax and enjoy this story. I felt it gave me the laid back feeling I strive for from my time for myself.

MAGNIFICENT LOVE STORY

This is a beautiful story Narrated by WALKER WILLIAMS whose voice is mesmerizing and beautiful to listen to. This is my first audio book and I truly enjoyed it. This is the introduction by JANICE JARRELL to her REVOLUTIONARY HEART SERIES. In this story we get to meet David and Nate first. They are professors at a prestigious college in Virginia. Then we get to meet Colin, who is a campus police officer. Josh is a Title lX administrator who works for the college. He is the advocate for the students who have been assaulted. He will work closely with Colin. When these two meet, fireworks go off. Neither think working so closely together and having a personal relationship is a good idea. But how long can they resist. This is a magnificently written story about love, finding love and how to hang on to it. It's beautifully crafted and I so enjoyed listening to it. Janice Jarrell did a wonderful job with choosing Walker Williams to lend his talent and beautiful voice to this project. Bravo to YOU both for a wonderful job!!! I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!!

Lovely!

This was a pure delight to listen to. It trailed two separate couples, both in very different stages of their journey, but with overlapping stories.

David and Nate are an established couple, both professors at the University of Virginia. When Nate witnesses an attack on campus, he steps in and gets stabbed. With the backing of another professor, he wants to rally the efforts to fight back against on campus attacks. But when David is more upset about his tenure and professionalism, things between them quickly get muddied.

Colin Campbell is an on-campus security guard and meets David and Nate when he handles their assault case. He's got quite a backstory that fuels him to find the perpetrators and ensure they pay for their crimes. It's during the paperwork side of his job that he meets Joshua Abrams, a Title IV consultant. They quickly start a relationship, however, Colin proclaims his status as a one night only kind of guy. Things get heated between them over a case file, causing Joshua to run. In the months that follow Colin discovers that he might have let the one person that he's ever connected with go.

There was a lot of drama and action as well as a hot guy on a motorcycle. I won't lie, I stayed up listening to this story long into the night because there was no way I could turn it off. The story was gripping and enchanting and I loved getting four separate POV's with distinctly different voices.

Janice Jarrell's prose was lovely. I enjoyed her use of Irish songs and the many sections that boasted such detailed visual imagery. This book was a pleasure to read.

The narration by Walker Williams was spot on. The voices for both Nate and Colin were absolute perfection. His slow, rhythmic tone was soothing and light, but spared no emotion. This was my first audio book narrated by him and it won't be my last.

Very highly recommended!
