About this listen

Love knows no barrier.

Harrison is a beloved musician known for his heart-wrenching lyrics and his beautiful voice. But when tragedy strikes on stage, the doctors say he may never speak again. Left with little else, he finds comfort in the eyes of one of his nurses.

Luke has never known a song, having been born deaf. He struggles against the institution to prove himself as a grad student working toward his registered nursing certification. He’s seen the man in the hospital bed before, plastered around his sister’s room. Still, he’s no different than any other patient until Luke realizes he’s holding his breath every time their hands touch.

Follow their journey as they discover that speaking through the heart is louder than any words can be.

Love and Silence is a gay stand-alone romance audiobook intended for adults only.

Heart-warming with medium angst story that I enjoyed so much. The odd couple, not just because of their disability, win my heart. The premise is really interesting, on MC is mute and the other is deaf, both came from very different worlds. There is drama and a lot of relationship issues to be dealt with, and they didn't resolve pretty easy, actually there was some heartbreaking decision making. No insta-love, thank you very much. But it wasn't slow burn either, more like medium burn.

I liked the narrator, but I couldn't distinguish who said what because he didn't change much, so it was confusing at times. Besides that, I pretty much enjoyed.

I liked the book, the story was interesting. It was different from other books I have listened to. I liked the MCs and how they interacted with eachother as well as with other characters. The narrator had a nice voice but I had to get used to his pacing. Although the narrator didn't alter the voices of the characters very much, though he did have an accent for the doctor, I was still able to follow along with the story without any issues. This may have been due to how the book was written. Overall, it was an easy listen with some angst but not to the point where the characters become annoying.
