Summary

Our futures are left to fate. And if we're lucky, sometimes fate throws us a curveball we couldn't possibly have seen coming.

USA Today best-selling author Andrea Smith brings an unlikely pairing in audiobook two of the G-Man series.

Nineteen-year-old Lindsey Dennison returns home after her freshman year of college to find the life she had left existed no more. Her parents' marriage had imploded; her dad was on the run from the law, and her mother had somehow found her lost youth.

All in less than a year's time.

Enter 29-year-old Taz Matthews, a sexy FBI agent and partner of her new stepfather, and suddenly, Lindsey's life is about to get really complicated.

When Lindsey's safety and well-being are threatened, Agent Taz is sent to protect her. The problem is, there's nobody to protect Taz when he finds himself becoming smitten with the sweet and innocent Lindsey.

Trying to fight the urge proves useless for this hot FBI agent, and stuff is about to get real! He finds himself in uncharted territory with Lindsey Dennison. All he knows is that somebody is out to take what he now claims as his....

All audiobooks in the G-Man Series can be listened to as a stand-alone, but are most enjoyable if listened to in order since the characters interconnect.

Love wins out

This story has it's fair share of angst, action and suspense and while you are told who the bad guy is, or is thought to be, there is a surprising twist. There is also family drama and tragedy before the ultimate happily-ever-after. Highly recommended.

Love this romantic suspense!

Andrea Smith has pulled me in and I am officially addicted to the G-Man series. This is book 2 features Taz, co-worker to Slate. These two worked together undercover in book one, and Taz definitely fit into that lifestyle. All the women and lack of commitment suit him perfectly. But when it comes to Slate's stepdaughter Lindsey, things may just be a little different. These two have dances around each other, and when things finally begin to come together, he finds out her inexperience. The combustible chemistry cannot be ignored, and we do see Taz's alpha side come out, and once their no strings relationship is over, he still has that over protectiveness towards her. With her dad still on the run, she needs protection, and not just from other men. Danger lurks in the most obvious of places, and the suspense runs high. Taz acts tough, though it's easy to read his heart. He is the kind of man I love to dream about, the warmth and safe feelings his gives plus the high passion! Lindsey, though innocent in many ways has lived through so much, and it's amazing she is as strong as she is! I love how she loves big with her whole heart, though it has it consequences. Will his feelings get in the way of the keeping her safe? Will he ever give in to growing heart? Will Lindsey come out unscathed? It's high thrills, gritty suspense and the G-Men keep us on the edge! I love this kind of story, and theirs just had my attention. I can't wait to see who we will get to know better next!

Chandler Gray brings all the tension, both romantic and suspenseful alive. He keeps his voices consistent from book to book and gives us the continuity I crave when characters cross over to other stories. He provides a good performance and made for a fun listen.

Love this series

Loved listening how Taz and Lindsey met and how they got through her trauma at the hands of Kaiser and Susan. It was great catching up with Sammy and Slate too . Looking forward to listening to more just sad Night Moves isn’t on audio.

It’s sexy and thrilling

Second book with a virgin heroine I’ve listened to in a short time, but here, the virgin factor is important and thoroughly explored in the intimate scenes. Let me tell you I quite enjoyed this aspect.

Of course, it comes with a caveat: there’s a couple of tough subjects brought in the story, including torture and rape. While the book starts almost like a romantic comedy–I said, almost–it becomes darker and darker along the way. It’s a romantic suspense, after all.

I wanted to know how Taz and Lindsey’s story started, and I wasn’t disappointed. If the narrator changes between book 2 and 4, there’s still so much energy in Taz’s character, I enjoyed that–even though the narration wasn’t that good, with a couple of recording mistakes kept in the final edit. The voices for each character are different, and the dialogues are dynamic, but the narrator didn’t do it for me.

Despite the length of the book, I didn’t get bored. It’s sexy and thrilling.

Powerful

An incredibly powerful story with characters that has kept me entertained. This book has some dark sections but there is also an amazing love story that keeps you wanting more and more. Although this one can be a stand-alone book, it will make the book more enjoyable to listen to the first book.

I'm enjoying the series

I really loved the first book in this series and this one was good too. The romance was fine but the suspense element got a bit too dark for me with the kidnapping and rape scene.
An entertaining read otherwise.

I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy.

Love plus one

Book 2 in Andrea Smith's G Man series. While I think this can be read as a stand alone, I think it's better if you read / listen to book 1 first so you get a more in depth history of these characters. I loved the characters - that we first meet in book 1 - Diamond Girl. Taz is such a man's man and I love how he's both tough and caring at the same time. I love that a good woman is the one who brings this playboy bad boy to his knees. Lindsey is going thru some tough times and Taz is just who she chooses to see her thru - but due to Taz's job, Lindsey puts herself at risk - will danger find her or will Taz be able to keep her safe - and can they find their HEA despite themselves?

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

I enjoyed it! The narration was good and will keep you entertained! The author does a good job with the character builds and plot. I like that you don't have to read the first book to enjoy this one! Not another crappy little romance novel

I have a hard time with a lot of romance type novels. But this one is very different than the rest. It was a little bit of a longer book than a lot of other romance books and that was perfect. It gave this book a lot more depth and the characters were more multi-dimensional. I mean I laughed, I cried (stupid PMS...I cried a lot!). This book was phenomenal. I plan on looking for more from Andrea Smith. The narrator also did an excellent job. One of the better books that I've listened to in a while. I really hope I can review the next book in the series!!

This book was given to me at my request.n (Thank you!) I am providing a voluntary and honest review!

Confused.

I really enjoyed book 1 in this series and was looking forward to book 2. My excitement dwindled as the story continued and I ended up fast forwarding through the last half of the book. One of my biggest struggles was the choice in narrator. The narrator himself is not too bad but most of the time he was narrating for female characters and situations from a female's point of view; it seems a female narrator would have been more appropriate for this book. I also really struggled with the step by step instructions on sex and the immaturity of the characters. There were very mature themes in the book, written at the level of young adult, so it came out a little awkward. I am a bit older and seasoned reader, this book just wasn't for me but it wasn't so bad that I wouldn't give this author and narrator another shot at a different story.

Excellent Audible book

Andrea Smith has once again created an exciting book in her G-men series. It contains mystery, intrigue, sexy FBI agents, friendship, family love and devotion, kidnapping, warning there is a rape scene, discovering true love, and hot sensual love scenes. This book had my attention the whole time. It was hard to put down. I can't wait to listen to the next book in this series. The narrator did an amazing job of portraying the emotions and desires of these characters. I asked to receive this Audible book and voluntarily wrote this unbiased review. I highly recommend this Audible book.
