About this listen

Trust no one. It’s a lesson Seth Cooper lives by. So why is it that when he meets Tad Rutledge, all he wants is to be wrapped in his strong arms and forget about the world?

It’s insanity and Seth knows it - every second he’s not on guard is a second he’s at risk - but the kindness in Tad’s eyes makes him want to believe happiness is possible.

Only the truth is far more complex.

Seth can’t let anyone love him. Not now. Not ever.

Not if he wants to survive.

Seth Cooper has secrets - the type Tad Rutledge shouldn’t mess with. They gleam in his heartbroken blue eyes and tremble in his voice. But helping people is what Tad does, so when he finds Seth lost and on the run, not even the promise of danger is enough to deter him.

Not when Seth looks at him like Tad might be the answer he’s been waiting for.

It’s up to Tad to protect him.

Keep him.

Claim him.

Because what Seth is running from is serious, and it’s about to change their lives forever.

I was surprised at how quickly this story moved. It was very engaging and the dynamics were gripping. I really enjoyed Scott's tale, and Adams's narrative was absolutely enthralling. Truly not a book to be missed.

Brilliantly written and narrated. Tad is running a Soup kitchen and Seth is owned by an awful man made to be a Prostitute, he escapes and runs into Tad who helps him get the other boys out of the Prostitution ring, whilst falling in love.

Piper Scott lays the groundwork for a very intriguing omega-verse universe in the first of her Rutledge Brothers novels, Love Me. The story of Seth, a runaway enslaved prostitute, as he helps to bring the powers of The White Lotus Brothel to justice.

Very romantic, the wealthy Thad (who has a giant heart), pledges to help Seth. Ms. Scott performs her magic, and they fall in love.

The audiobook is performed by Dennis Adams (4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐). New to me, Mr. Adams does a great job. I love his smooth, melodic voice. I hope this is just the beginning of Mr. Adams career, because he’s perfectly suited to the M/M romance genre.

Great New Omegaverse, <3 Dennis Adams!

While this book is pretty much a companion to the His Command series or at least in the same 'verse, it can be listened to as a standalone.

Seth manages to escape from the evil clutches of the White Lotus Brothel's owner and is determined to find a way to help rescue his best friend and the others in the brothel. While escaping from one of the Director's men, he is found by Tad Rutledge, who runs a Soup Kitchen and who vows to protect Seth and help him bring down the Director and his empire.

This was a short audiobook at almost 2 and a half hours, still, it was entertaining and the story was well-developed. The romance was pretty insta, but considering the length of the book, it's understandable. It has action and violence and hot, knotty sex.

Dennis Adam is a new-to-me narrator, and I found his voice pleasant and engaging. It was a pretty smooth, even narration that I have no trouble recommending.

Good start to the series!

I love this Rutledge Brothers series of novellas by Piper Scott as it brings the Omegas from the White Lotus into the open. I love how Tad (Thaddeus) finds Seth hiding near his Soup Kitchen and his immediate instinct is to shield him from the potential threat of the thug looking for him.
This story is short but had plenty of action and a determined Omega who takes charge of his destiny. A nice story with a happy ending but that leads towards wanting to know more about the other brothers and the omegas who come into their lives. Highly recommended as a short sweet listen. Dennis Adams is a relatively new-to-me narrator who does an excellent job of giving the guys a voice of their own. I love the strong characters Piper has developed from their initial inception.
