About this listen

Austin Romero: No one's fast enough to outrun grief. Trust me, I've tried. I ran away from the city and took a job as the lead detective back in my old home town of Blue Creek, New Hampshire. I expected to bump into past ghosts, but I never expected those ghosts to reopen old wounds.

The biggest ghost of them all: Charlie Marsh. He was the man who had stolen my heart when we were teens, and who now couldn't even remember a single day we had spent together. Which makes it exceptionally awkward when he becomes my first client.

Charlie Marsh: An accident stole seven years of my memories, robbing me of experiences, lessons, people.

It robbed me of my first love. I couldn't remember who Austin even was, much less when and where we shared our first kiss. So when I bumped into the most jaw-droppingly handsome man I'd ever seen, I had no idea we already shared an entire galaxy's worth of history between us.

Second chances aren't always easy, and this one only gets more complicated after finding out that my "accident" wasn't an accident at all, and it seems like someone wants to finish the job. Good thing I've got a hot detective's number on speed-dial.

Contains mature themes.

This is my first book from Max Walker and it was great . The plot kept me listening and the main characters changed and grew throughout the book and I will definitely be listening to the rest of the series.

Great book

Even better listening as you read 📚
Great MM romance, not super spicy (I'd like a bit more, to be honest). There is an interesting murder mystery, too, and the amnesia was a great touch and worked well with the second chance trope.
My first from this author but not my last.

Great MM romance

I really enjoyed this book. Personally I thought it was a great storyline unlike anything I'd heard before. The exchange between Charlie and his dad I thought was particularly moving. The narrator did a great job doing all the voices, it was a really great performance

Great story of suspense and second chances

The story was so intriguing and interesting I loved it. I’ve never read a book in my life and now that I’ve listened to this one I wanna read all of them

I never knew I loved this

Narrator was great, but the story was SO predictable that I rolled my eyes multiple times. There were no surprises at all, no suspense and it was quite unrealistic. I ended up getting more and more irritated. Do not understand the many stars given for this story. Must be listened to by people who have never seen or head a crime story before!
And spoiler: the perp giving all the information without any evidence at all is just lazy writing. The author could at least have written in that Austin has his confession on his mobile phone that he had turned on to tape their conversation. But no! He willingly gave all info once arrested. Given who the perp was....that is just insanely idiotic and unrealistic writing.

disappointing and predictable
