Summary

The announcement of a grand treasure hunt sets the Lodes Valley ladies' hearts aflutter. The cash is only part of the appeal: A win could solve several romantic dilemmas. Pixie Guinness sees the quest as a route back to her wayward husband while Pheely is spurred into a covert affair. Faith hopes to snare true love, Rory; and Liv - well, Liv just wants distraction from the boredom of country life.

But it is Trudy who finds the trail of clues leads her in quite a different direction and one closer and closer to temptation. Is she chasing a rainbow or just chasing her own tail? As the hunt reaches its climax, the competitors find they are fighting for the highest prize of all - their own happy ending.

Great book

I enjoyed reading this book, once I worked out who was who. There's a few steamy scenes, but not too over the top. It has a feel of Jilly Cooper about it.

Bunch of slappers

Not as fluffy romantic as you might think. Most of the people in this have flings with other people, and those looking for love and with morals get ignored, shame.

really enjoy these books

Great story some very likable characters an added bonus would have been if all the books in the series where read by the same person but throughly enjoyed them

Not an enjoyable puchase

The storyline hops about too much & I found the narration annoying. I did not feel intrigued by any of the characters. I disliked this title so much I didn’t even bother to listen to *part 3.
I would not even bother going back to this story.
This is a good benchmark as usually I listen to my audio titles at least twice, sometimes 3 times.

I thought Four Play was bad

If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

Suzy Aitchison makes an early 30's character sound older then his father Piggy, what happened to Finn Cotterills voice? Pixie now sounds like she is 80 years old, and the rest of the characters are no better. I thought Lucy Scott wasn't the best pick for Four Play, but this bites the bullet... and for the love of god her name is Trudy not TWODEE, 1/5 times Suzy correctly pronounces the name, I even went online to read the synopsis to make sure it wasn't Twodee.

Absolutely AWFUL narration. Please Fiona Walker, consistency.

Would you be willing to try another book from Fiona Walker? Why or why not?

Only if it isn't part of the Lodes Valley series, shame as the first 2 books were very good.

How could the performance have been better?

Re narrate the whole series using the same narrator, Beth Chalmers!

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Not unless you re-narrate it.

Any additional comments?

Re narrate the whole series using the same narrator, Beth Chalmers!
