About this listen

Fate, Fortune, Fame: Pick One

I’m being paraded like a prize.

A strategic marriage to a powerful man who wants to use me like a billboard.

Smile for the cameras. Memorize his politics.

Don’t slip up. Don’t speak out.

But I already belong to someone else.

Rhaim Selvaggio is dangerous.

My father’s business partner. My former boss.

The only man who’s ever made me feel safe—Even when he’s got blood on his hands.

Especially then.

He told me to trust him.

To play the game.

To wait for him to burn it all down.

But if he didn’t want me to save myself—He shouldn’t have given me the matches.

Love Her is like if the movie Secretary met the TV shows Succession and The Sopranos, with a Beauty and the Beast themed twist. It is the second book in Cassie Alexander's The Moth and the Monster series, which marks her stunning contemporary debut.

The story of Lia and Rhaim continues, and she thought that proving to her mafia father that she is capable of handling his business would give her the respect she has always wanted. She is about to realize how wrong she is when her father has decided her greatest value is an arranged marriage to a senator who is old enough to be her father.

Rhaim thought the best thing he could do for Lia was to not stand in her way however finding out the future that is being planned for her he can no longer stand aside. He will do whatever is necessary to protect Lia and will dispose of anyone who stands in his way.

Lia and Rhaim have tumultuous pasts that they have not healed from but the love between them is not in question as the suspense part of the story continues to escalate. Matthew Holland brings out the dark and dominate side of Rhaim while Bunny Warren brings out the every emotion of Lia as the drama continues.

This is the second installment in the Moth and the Monster series — a dark mafia age-gap romance. The story picks up right where the first book ended. Lia and Rhaim’s forbidden romance is dark, intense, and emotionally gripping — and there’s a lot unfolding in this second part. The secrets run deep, the danger is contant, and the tension between them is off the charts. This series is completely captivating. Matthew Holland and Bunny Warren did a great job bringing the characters and emotions to life. The story ends with a cliffhanger, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

I couldn't wait for part two of this trilogy, and it did not disappoint! Lia and Rhaim's story continues, and with things coming to an end, Lia's future must be secured. Finding her a husband that was suited to her is made, and Rhaim as well as Lia are not happy with his choice. Lia is set on wanting her older bodyguard, and he can't, after all, he works for her father. But his heart can't take it and he's not supposed to have her, he has no intention of giving her up. Dark, dangerous and full of spice, Cassie Alexander took me on this journey for a reason. Seeing their relationship grow is just part of it. The secrets, the politics, the betrayals and twists I don't see coming, well, that just makes the story worth the listen! It's edgy and exciting with a cliffhanger that left me wanting to know where it's all going to end.

Matthew Holland and Bunny Warren continue their fantastic dual narration. Together, the story keeps the emotions high and the suspense higher. I love that these two have complimentary voices, keeping the male and female voices consistent even with each playing both roles. It's full of heat and excitement and I loved it.

What a story! Grab this duet!

Love Her is book to in The Moth and The Monster series. OMG this book is everything! This book picks up where book one leaves off. It must be read in order. Lia has been working to take over her father’s legacy in the future. Her father has other plans. He has promised her to the Senator. Rhaim has been keeping his distance from Lia. He can’t keep his thoughts off of her. He has promised to save her from it all, take anyone out that gets in their way. He is OBSESSED with her, “His Little Girl”. Rhaim is slowly healing her from her past trauma. They are perfect for each other. This book ends on a massive cliffhanger. I need the next book immediately!!!

Bunny Warren and Matthew Holland did a fantastic job narrating this job.

This is the second book in the moth and beast trilogy and it was great! If the first book was to introduce characters set up the premise this book dove in to the thick of it!

We start 2 months after the events of the first book, and Leah chose to get her father’s company instead of Reim (p.s. i listened to the book so have no clue of the correct name pronunciation.) however Reim (our MMC) snaps first because FMC’s dad is ready to proceed with his plan to marry her off. Plot twist he decided to marry her off to the senator himself so now our MMC is doubling his efforts to get her out of it.

I am still confused with the father’s motives. On some level i understand them he wants to marry her off so his family doesn’t come for her but at the same time that was the whole point of the IPO. But anyway, i do hope we’ll get all the answers in the last book (also wtf, i need to wait for almost a year?
