About this listen

Natasha Kapoor's life is at a turning point. Leaving London for the magical Cornish coast to attend the funeral of her beloved grandmother, this trip will reunite her with her large and complicated family. As she and her family sort through her grandmother’s possessions and prepare to sell her idyllic coastal home, Natasha is given the long-lost diary of her aunt Cecily, who died in a tragic accident at the age of fifteen.

Returning home Natasha must get back to normality. But how can she forget the tragic tale of love and heartbreak that emerged from the pages of Cecily’s diary? And will Cecily’s words, though written forty years ago, inspire Natasha to take a chance on love?

The first few chapters are quite bizarre. Terrible accents but it gets a lot better.

don't be put off by the first few chapters

Really enjoyed this audiobook, interesting story with diverse characters. The narrators were good apart from the the young men’s voices in the 1963 part (they were a bit irritating) but overall a great book

Great story

I did enjoy this book.
I thought the two narrators were excellent and very well read.
I did find this a good story with interesting characters, however I found it to be quite depressive. There was so much negativity. I don't want to ruin it for future readers by disclosing too much but I found the topics to cover mainly negative subjects. I.e death, divorce, breakdown of family, her relationship with her mother, her financial situation, infidelity etc.... I am glad I didn't listen to it on holiday as a 'happy' read.
So although it was well written it was too negative for me personally. Hope this review is helpful.

Good book but quite depressing.

the younger Guy in the story sounds like he is a very old man with chronic laryngitis

This story just makes you feel good. It's sad in parts but it feels human. Thoroughly recommend this book. As always you want to shout at the characters for not communicating but then it wouldn't be a good story if they did it at the beginning

Heartwarming
