Summary

Lot was the nephew of the patriarch Abraham and learned from him as they emigrate from Iraq/Iran area to Israel, 4,000 years ago. Abraham, the father of the Israelis and the Arabs, is a giant of the faith, but Lot got sidetracked and lost everything.

This book follows his progress and examines what lies behind the scenes. Learn about the fascinating escape from Sodom when God rained fire down upon it and finish up appreciating the faithfulness of God.

Lovely book

I have been thinking for a while that I wanted to re-read the bible and get to know the characters/people better and I knew so little about Lot. This was a great listen and fascinating made all the better by the personal journey of the author. Great book and looking forward to the others.

Just wonderful!

I absolutely loved revisiting the story of Lot and thoroughly enjoyed the exhaustive information the author provides surrounding this extraordinary Biblical character. What a great idea to focus on the detail so much and bring us closer to understanding and interpreting our own tribes and tribulations through these events, bringing in deeper reflection on how we are all really not so much different from the people the Bible shows us. And most importantly, bringing back hope that in all the troubles and pain, God is standing by us...

Fabulous narrator, a great listen!

Inspiring!

The book tells the story of Lot, who lost his Lot. He chose Sodom, not knowing what lies ahead. This is a big lesson for us all that Sodom and everything in it will one day be destroyed. Sodom will represent the world that will one day be eliminated, so knowing God and following him in obedience is our way out.

Life lessons from a Biblical character...

The book of Genesis gives us the accounts of various people's lives, all of which are able to give us lessons and insights as to how we should live our lives as God's people. One such person we can learn valuable lessons from is the man named Lot. From Lot's story, we see how riches let one decided to separate themselves from their family and how one can fall into the wickedness of our environment resulting in us straying from our moral compass. Even though I'm not Christian but I do see how some of life valuable lessons can be learned from reading the Bible.

A nice refresher

I have enjoyed the author's biblical person series. It is a nice refresher on characters that I have not thought about since I was younger in bible studies. I appreciated the story put together by the author and I think the narrator did a great job!

Interesting!

The story of Lot has been interesting but also quite shocking too!
We learn that being selfish or thinking only of yourself is not a good thing. learn from your mistakes or face the consequences.

My faith is strong and I always give thanks, as Abram did to his Lord. As the story suggests, we should always consider how important God is in our lives. Nothing happens without his say so.

The one lesson I would take away from this story is to be mindful of my Creator and give thanks for what I have been blessed with. We are nothing without God.

Good biblical story to learn from.
