Summary
What might have been? That tantalizing question propels a woman on a cross-country adventure to reunite with the men she loved and let go, in Danielle Steel's exhilarating new novel.
It all starts with a fall from a ladder in a firehouse in New York City. The firehouse has been converted into a unique Manhattan home and studio where renowned photographer Madison Allen works and lives after raising three children on her own. But the accident, which happens while Maddie is sorting through long-forgotten personal mementos and photos, results in more than a broken ankle. It changes her life.
Spurred by old memories, the forced pause in her demanding schedule, and an argument with her daughter that leads to a rare crisis of confidence, Maddie embarks on a road trip. She hopes to answer questions about the men she loved and might have married - but didn't - in the years after she was left alone with three young children. Wearing a cast and driving a rented SUV, she sets off to reconnect with three very different men - one in Boston, one in Chicago, and another in Wyoming - to know once and for all if the decisions she made long ago were the right ones.
Before moving forward into the future, she is compelled to confront the past. As the miles and days pass, and with each new encounter, Maddie's life comes into clearer focus, and a new future takes shape.
A deeply felt story about love, motherhood, family, and fate, Lost and Found is an irresistible new novel from America's most dynamic storyteller.

Not one of her best..... but still worth a listen
Danielle Steel has always been prolific but as she gets into her late 60’s she’s writing half a dozen books a year. Apparently she works on four or more at once. This one isn’t one of her best but it’s still entertaining and explores the much revisited theme of single mum with differing grown up children and the realisation that even a mum in her late 50’s has a right to a great life and perhaps a loving relationship with an unexpected long distance lover. No surprises and not much drama in this one and the usual good narration although Dan John Miller isn’t that great at English accents!! Worth a listen but her next novel, CHILD’S PLAY, which also features a single mum with adult children, is much more satisfying and a return to DS at her very best.

Boring, with no real substance;Narration good
Danielle Steel has written a story here that is well below what she usually conjures up. The story lacks depth and has no real substance and what little story there is, is dragged out endlessly. Boring, dull, predictable,so don't waste your time or money there are far better options. The stars for performance are for the narrator, although he does need to learn how to pronounce some key English words.

Get Out The Kleenexes!
Ok, I’m not much into love stories, or DS for that matter. But I was attracted to this book by the cover, first of all, I love the California coast line, and Big Sur in particular. Then I read the synopsis, and it sounded good. I started listening and couldn’t stop! Such a range of emotions. It even made me cry! Crazy, it’s just a story...but it’s a good one!

I kept waiting for it to get better but it never happened
I was very disappointed in this book. I read Danielle Steel and have always enjoyed them. I was at the end of chapter seven and thought, ok now it is going to get good. I was wrong. The storyline was terrible and the oldest daughter was a horrible person it made me mad. William kept making jokes about Maddie’s virginity and it wasn’t funny and got annoying after the third or fourth time. Overall it was unrealistic and made me want to scream. I never write reviews but this one was so bad I felt like I needed to. Don’t waste your time!

An enjoyable book
I loved this book and listened to it in one long setting. The heroine is a strong woman who has made her own way in the world. Her adult children are each very different. They learn some valuable lessons before the book ends. Danielle Steel manages to spring a few surprises on us as the story evolves. This is a read that leaves you feeling good.
