About this listen

Abandoned on the streets of Guadalajara as a toddler. Adopted into a new life in the United States. Searching for identity, healing, and a place to belong.

In Lost & Found: The Journey of Socorro, Linda Ann Sanchez shares her remarkable memoir of survival, resilience, and self-discovery. From the uncertainty of her earliest years to the struggles of growing up in a world where she never quite felt at home, Linda’s story is one of perseverance and hope.

Through the trials of adoption, the challenges of family relationships, and the search for faith and purpose, Linda discovers that healing isn’t just about finding where you come from—it’s about embracing where you are meant to be.

Focusing on adoption from another country, this child's story focuses on not fitting in and how she felt she had to adapt to her new surroundings and the courage it took to do that. But also the courage to find herself and understand her background and roots.

i kept circling back to the moment linda describes her early years in guadalajara and how that sense of not quite fitting in followed her into adoption. the reflection on family relationships and purpose felt honest and sometimes a bit heavy, but the resilience and quiet hope made it worth finishing.

I kept thinking about Linda’s early memories of Guadalajara and how that sense of not quite fitting in carried over into her adopted life. Lost & Found feels gentle and sincere, touching on family, faith, and the search for identity in a very personal way. A few moments are emotional, but they never overwhelm the story. What stood out most to me was the steady sense of hope and growth, and the reminder that healing often comes from understanding yourself and learning where you truly belong. The narrator was very authentic and easy to connect to the author’s story.

Listening to this story really got to me. It’s just so raw. I felt my heart ache hearing about a tiny child left alone on the streets. The narrator has such a warm, clear voice. It felt like a friend was sharing their deepest secrets with me. Their tone made the sad parts feel real but hopeful. It’s a beautiful journey about finding where you belong. Honestly, I’m still thinking about it. You should definitely give it a listen.
