Summary

Considered the greatest novel in Italian literature, Manzoni himself described it as a collection of "tragedies of horrors and scenes of wickedness with intervals of virtuous feats". But the greatest thing in this novel is its argumental richness that has as a background in the Thirty Years War and the Spanish invasion of Italy.
